  17. This hire will not only be required to tweak the roster, but completely rebuild the coaching staff. I trust the 20+ year veteran HC McCarthy far more than any young first time HC or even Flores. He's done this before and had success. And yes, he's 62, but so are both the Harbaugh brothers and they are recent re-hires. Not to mention Andy Reid is 68. Todd Monken has never been a HC and was hired by the Browns at 59.

Regarding Ben's question about what type of quarterback you want I would much rather have Mason Rudolph right now than Aaron Rodgers because Mason is young enough to move when he's about to get sacked Aaron Rodgers can't really do that anymore and Ben was exceptional in that he was big and willing to sacrifice his body and that made him hard to take down but he paid for it physically these days even an average defense will get to your quarterback

  27. I'm so glad that tomlin is out and grateful for the Big Mc for stepping in and trying to turn this perpetual mediocre team around. Even if he has losses, I hope that they will be competitive losses and not the embarrassing ones that piled up so deep on the last staff. One and dones and mediocrity is a hard thing to shake off.

  28. Ben famously didn't study hard and made his best plays out of the system when things broke down. People who want him as a coach crack me up. If ben had put more time in the film room he would have another super bowl or two instead of a very mediocre playoff record and td-int ratio

  29. Being a fan of the team you coach means absolutely nothing when it comes to competing for championships. In fact you could argue it's a weakness since it drags focus away from the fundamentals and gameplanning

  33. Once a Yinzer always a Yinzer. People will come around there's no reason not to yet. Let the guy have a few years and see what he can do. Can We call up Mike Munchack for the offensive line and see if he wants to come back?
