  1. This team just wants to be mid. The GM is an idiot trying to be the smartest guy in the room but keeps getting mid players and wants to think he is a genius. So he gets another 20 homer guy who isnt a good fielder after all we heard we need better defense. So he had Rafeal Devers and he wants to get Parades a bargain basement Devers and he gives up a great piece to do it. Fire this idiot already. You have a team of average players who have no power. This team will be lucky to go .500. They have a mid first baseman who is old and never really did much and wasn't even wanted in St Louis who have been a lousy team but somehow they will be great in Boston. You have 2nd and 3rd who have basically either unproven rookies who couldn't stay on the team or wanting trade chips that arent much better if at all. Your shortstop has had one good year in 5 and he is your power source. Your catchers are average. Your left fielder is over-hyped and will be a Trot Nixon/Mike Greenwell type. Players who were mid but hyped by the Red Sox hype. The center fielder who cant hit and a good but nothing special player in right field. You have a definite number 1 but a 2 who hasn't pitched more than 150 innings. A three who shit the bed on his last big market team and was mid on a team with no fan push back. And a whole bunch of 4's and 5's. A decent but average pen. With the Yankees still a better team. An improved Baltimore team who wont fail as much next year. A improved Toronto team and a Rays team always sneaking around. Not to mention other AL clubs who have improved. The Sox made the playoffs last year because Detroit, KC and Houston all crapped out as did Baltimore. This Red Sox team is weaker than last years opening day 2025 roster and people are happy with this. They got lucky not signing Bregman to a stupid deal but should have played Bregman at second last year and Devers should be on this team. But all the idiots touting that trade are the modern Red Sox fans who believe the media and front office BS and are the reason this team will be a fourth place team going forward. This team needs power not defense. Defensive teams fail, teams with power win. David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez led this team through lots of winning and couldn't play a lick of defense. This fan base used to be the most intelligent in baseball but now they are ESPN watching, Reddit reading goofs who believe the bullshit and dont know enough about baseball to understand the game. They play a videogame and think they know baseball. What a joke and a pathetic lot this fan base is now.
