I mean it certainly isn’t a good thing and our own players are more at risk than anyone else since we play on it more. So we have incentive to not have a dangerous court as well
Yes it is.
It’s been a problem and every time someone falls awkwardly off of it it becomes an even bigger problem.
I mean outside of the Dru Smith injury which was legitimately unfortunate has there been any actual injuries directly caused by the raised court?
It seems like if there only two instances in 20 years where the raised court has caused problems. It’s probably not as serious as people make it out to be
Had floor seats a few years ago and I was intrigued the court was that elevated.
I assume it is because of the multiple layers of underlayment to support the court over the ice.
it’s only an issue when someone fades away and hops 8 steps
I think we’d all be up in arms if a Cavs player got hurt because of it, and it does seem like they should come up with a solution to make it safer for players.
Yes, Luka’s unnecessary hopping around was pretty dumb. I feel significantly worse for that Heat player who (if I remember correctly) was trying to make a legitimate basketball play.
“I haven’t heard anything about it since the last guy got injured”🤣
Yeah, having multiple injuries for the same issue is pretty bad. Considering our guys play here more than anyone else I think it’s definitely worth addressing.
Can we bring up how dangerous it is for people to be sitting 2 feet away from the court while we’re at it?
Just fix it. It’s a risk to anyone who plays on it, including our own players.
I mean hearing about a floor twice in a year is pretty fucking bad haha. When do you ever hear about nba floors besides the paint in the nba tournament?
It blows my mind their floor is still like that. The nba should force a change.
It’s just the Lakers bitching about something small bc they got blown out by 30
I don’t want any players getting hurt so they should probably come up with a better solution.
That heat game wasn’t last year that was years ago where that dude got injured
they should fix it because it is dangerous, even if, for the most part, the only way to hurt yourself on it is to hop backwards on one foot for 10 feet.
dan gilbert sucks in a lot of ways, but he isn’t cheap. i’m wondering if the issue is structural.
probably can’t fix it until the offseason, one way or the other
I watch damn near every fucking Cavs game. Have for almost 24 years….it’s never been an issue for our guys and like 2/3 of the league have floors like this anyway
It really should be fixed
Its not ideal and should be fixed.
It should be fixed its a risk
Bro did 7 hop backs for no reason
if im not wrong our court is the reason why garlands toe is the way it is lol. in the heat series he tried closing out on a shooter and i think he landed in that area
It’s really dumb and not safe.
The east goes through the Cavs [court]
Please god , no Dalton Knecht….
I’m personally against any raised court anywhere. Just seems like an unnecessary risk just to squeeze in another couple of seats. The most egregious court is the Final Four every year.
On the opposite end of the spectrum if you want to see a wtf court setup check out Vanderbilt’s
There are people here that actually think NOT fixing this is a pretty great idea????
