  2. About time people are coming to relazation that Cashman is the most overrated gm in sports history. Youre not a hall of famer when you ignore the most important part of your job which is drafting and developing talent. They got lucky with Judge but whose the second best player they developed? Brett Gardner. They out bid for steriod user Cano and Melkey. At this point im shocked the other dumb gms trade for yankee prospects. They hardly ever make it to the show.

The problem is you have a GM that doesn’t have a clue on how to build a team and how to develop young talent the whole organization is lost and become a disgrace to the pinstripes they will never win a championship with the front office they have. Hal should grow a pair and fire everyone who is making the baseball decisions. And it begins with cashman!

  7. You are missing a lot of things.
    1) The Yankees development was unique to the dynasty years thanks largely to the stewardship of Gene Michael who refused to trade players like Mo and Bernie. When Steinbrenner was running things, he had a knack for paying for free agents trading away prospects. Only when he got banned did the team right itself.
    2) You mention Torre is a baseball lifer. Boone is too. Torre had a terrible record as manager when the Yankees hired him, prompting the Post to go with the headline “Clueless Joe.” I have my problems with Boone but handling players isn’t one of them.
    3) Judge, Stanton, and Cole are the leaders of this team. Very few have had complaints about the clubhouse under their tenure.
    4) Since the dynasty years, MLB has done a lot to stop teams from doing what the Yankees did, capping draft payments, limiting IFA spending, getting rid of extra minor league teams, and most importantly adding the Competitive Balance Tax. The CBT finally curbed the Yankees spending habits (though still excessive compared to many teams).
    5) Other owners have come into the league who are both willing and able to outspend the Steinbrenners. That had not been the case prior to the 2010s.

    The truth is this is closer to how the Yankees operated most of the last 50 years. The dynasty era was the exception to their existence in the free agency era.

  10. Great videos! Although i know you cant spend an hour on the patch work segment its so much worse than explained, they had Willie Calhoun (a listed DH) in the outfield and Isaiah Kiner Falefa (Gold glove 3B) in Left Field, positions haven't had an actual fit in years 😭

  24. You realize the Marlins gave Giancarlo that contract in the first place. Yankees traded for a percentage of it, which also took em out the race for Harper. Tho they didn’t even bother to make an offer.

  26. More like everybody is noticing! Cashman inherited the 90's dynasty in 1998 and has done little since. Hal Steinbrenner is a huge disappointment sticking with Cashman and Boone calling the playoffs but nothing but luck and whining about money. Nobody wants to her a billionaire whine about money, idiot!

  34. I swear if Aaron Judge becomes the next Don Mattingly, I will blame Cashman & Hal Steinbrenner forever, even if I still root for the Yankees. Every Yankees fan still holds resentment at George Steinbrenner for wasting Don Mattingly’s career & I’m very worried Cashman & Hal Steinbrenner are going to do the same to Judge.
