The Toronto Blue Jays Are Worse Than People Realize…

The Toronto Blue Jays lost in the 2025 World Series, and are in a confusing spot for the 2026 MLB Season. With A core of George Springer, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Dylan Cease, there should be a lot of hope. However, Bo Bichette left in free agency as well as some other playoff heroes, so how are the Blue Jays going to be able to fill those shoes and get back to the world series in 2026? How is it going to go for the Blue Jays, after the Los Angeles Dodgers and Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani just ended their season, what’s next for the Blue Jays and baseball in Canada.

  1. Bro this is crazy there at least 5 star players Guerrero jr, Alejandro Kirk, ernie clement, addison barger l,Daulton varsho, maybe George springer. 😂 no stars

  2. Some notes:

Scherzer unfortunately is in his 40s now and he can't be used long term, which is why they took Cease and are planning on trying to re-sign Gausman and Bieber when the season is done.

Bichette, although good offensively was the shits defensively. He had a history of blowing plays and his 7 injuries (6 leg related) over the last 3 years did him no favors. He had terrible running discipline to top it off and he was expecting a Vladdy level contract. The writing was on the wall when Okamoto was signed. Okamoto will take a season to adjust but he will pay off.

IKF was gonna be a PR nightmare after his botch at Game 7.

Santander was hurt and back injuries are one of the worst. The Raptors for instance are struggling with a lack of good Center because of Poeltl battling that issue since the start. It's a factor that is making it impossible for them to compete with the Knicks and Celtics.

Yesavage has control issues but he is a rookie going into his 2nd year. Bieber also had to do the season recovering from Tommy John at the end.

As for the AL East, the Red Sox and Orioles will be threats but they will definitely finish well. They can address the issues at the trade deadline.

When you talked about the stats over the last 3 years on offense, you have to consider those 2 years were also before Popkins philosophy of Contact Hitting happened. It took time to get it going and they eventually kicked it into high gear at 50 games into 2025.

  3. As a Yankee fan I think the AL East will either be the best division in the entire sport or the most disappointing in the entire sport. And to answer the question in the video, Toronto is definitely the favorite right now but I think NY, Boston and Baltimore can spoil the fun for them. I’m really excited to see how the race takes shape this season.

  4. I think your missing the fact that the blue jays changed their hitting coach between the 2024 and 2025 season and that clearly made a big difference. Its not right to take too much into what each hitter did in 2023 and 2024 compared to 2025 since they had different hitting approaches in those seasons

  5. Jays had a very deep bench last year that let them platoon teams to death. They got really lucky that a lot of the guys (like Tyler heineman) who played in a small sample had great performances and they massively out performed their Pythagorean W/L. There’s a version of reality where loosing Bo helps the defence while people like Tony, Varsho, and Gimenez all have good, injury free seasons and their bats continue to have a strong platoon advantage. But without the consistent offence from Bo it’s hard to see this team as truly elite

  6. The Jays are just getting started their serious championship aspirations this year. I believe that the Blue Jays will be the team to beat in the AL again

  7. 😂😂😂 what a fucking loser , you're mediocre team couldn't even beat the Yankees but the Jays "aren't that Good/overrated? " The team with no actual second baseman or third baseman and a one reliever that people actually know 😂😂😂 what a pathetic video to release

  8. Everything broke right for them last season. I dont put much faith in rotation or bullpen. The offense should be good, dont strike out much or hit many HRs

  9. I think okamoto is a sneaky good signing, that plus a hopefully rejuvenated Santander should take the sting out of losing Bo, hopefully we sign mad max again, maybecmid year so he's thowing at his peak in the playoffs

  10. In my opinion the jays are better than they were last year, they lost bo, replaced him with kazuma okamoto, then got a lot of pitching, and santander could get better. That’s objectively better. But I don’t think they will do better than they did in 2025, because I think they were a bit lucky. Lots of their unknown players played elite, and that could be a permanent thing, or it could just be a one season thing. So it’s tough to tell, and I think they will probably win their division, but it’s really unknown to me. They could be World Series favourites for the American League, we will have to see how they’re playing in 2026. It just depends on how well the players carry over last years preformance. I basically just agree 100% with what this guy is saying.

  11. Not even a blue jays fan but it really seems like ur just trying to rage bait here….. lmk when the yanks or Phillies rage bait vid comes out

  12. You are looking at the stats too much. Yes they are useful. But they can also tell false narratives. Barger had stretches where he looked like he could be better than Vladdy. He is very young and needs time to figure things out. He and popkins will be working on consistency. He will likely get better. Okamoto is a bit of a wild card but: he was a better hitter than Shohei Ohtani in the NPB and hit .500 against Yamamoto. Varsho, when healthy is an absolute monster. the problem was is he was injured for a large portion of last year. Ernie (goat) showed us what he was capable of contact wise, and there is no reason why he can't continue doing that. He struggles a bit against righties (i think) but is a beast against lefties. This is something he can work on and figure out with Popkins. and the best part: This was a down year for Vladdy, and he is not yet even in his prime. He is so young

  13. i think in bench depth and offensively they took a little knock for sure, they are basically the same defensively, but the pitching got a lot better as a whole unit.

  14. 13:19 that’s the work of David popkins. I mean take George Springer. Before popkins came in and made his adjustments we can see how he played in 2024vs 2025. Comparing each Springer got an additional 30 runs, 30 hits, 13 Homers and 28 RBI’s between the 2 seasons and 2025 wasn’t a full season as in an interview with game14 podcast popkins said they made his changes before the July 1st Canada Day game. So yeah honestly I have faith that Popkins will do good for the players development. And not just him the pitching staff has apparently been working on Yesavage with him taking up a curveball (have yet to see its effectiveness obviously but we shall see).

  15. You guys don't understand why the Jays' offence was so good; the reason is that David Popkins introduced a hitting style called "put the bat on the ball and hit it hard," which focuses on making solid contact rather than swinging for the fences. You can see the evidence in the statistics—bat speed and exit velocity show that they prioritized hard contact. That's why!

  16. The fact that the blue jays had an .822 ops (#1 in post) and was over 100 points higher than second place, the Dodgers, AND STILL LOST , speaks volumes about the Dodgers!

  17. I agree with everything you said. Yes, the Jays may be in trouble if Santander doesn't return to the decent hitter that he was from 2020-2024 and if Okamoto struggles. If Santander returns to somewhat form and Okamoto is steady at the plate they will be alright (decent offence, but not great) . The overall improvemnt in pitching can hopefully pick up the slack. EDIT: I disagree about IKF….his hitting was awful in the post season and we lost by trotting him out there…….I do think the Yankees offense is just beastly and stronger than the Jays.

  18. Sure… Springer, playoff Ernie, playoff Barger and Kirk might regress…

However, Vlad, Varsho and Santander will be better then last year…

The pitching will be much better then last year.

I think with much better pitching and the addition of Okamoto, the Jays win 95+ games and the AL East….

See what happens in the playoffs

  19. This run felt magical, but at the same time it felt like a bit of a fluke-ish run in a way. Obviously this team is still great, but expecting players like Springer, Clement, etc. to be as great as they were is irresponsible. We can expect players like Santander, Giminez, even Vladdy (regular season at least) to be better this year. Really looking forward to this team in 2026.
