  1. Everyone saying Hunter is having a down year: so is Keon. Hunter's numbers are still better across the board for one reason: size. Keon was my favorite player on this team because I love a scrappy underdog, but he's severely limited by his size. All I can say is: Thank God I never have to hear the words 'logjam at the guard position' again this season.

  2. I'm very happy Keon Ellis got traded… he was overvalued (as what many Kings fans do with the fringe players that come to Sacramento), moved away from Dennis Schröder and got wing talent in return in De'Andre Hunter, someone who can spell Keegan Murray (when healthy), free up roster spots as well and a logjam in the backcourt

  3. I'm so mad this stuff is truly unacceptable. Are the King's going to be cursed forever? I was hoping so bad Scott Perry would be better, guess not…

  4. I'm not sure about what Scott Perry did! We'll have to see how D. Hunter works out. I am happy overall for Keon and glad he was a part of the Kings roster! Matt, I appreciate your comments.

  5. This seems so similar to the pistons timeline lol. They also added an older 6-8 down on his luck forward (tobias harris) when they also were the worst team in the league. After that they went 44-38 then they also had schroder (lol) then traded him now they are the best team in the east. hmmmmm coincidence?

  6. Matt 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ does D.Hunter give us BETTER LEVERAGE at the trade deadline than we had BEFORE trading for D.Hunter or not??? I’m jus saying, D.Hunter is ready good AND HES 6’8 with a wingspan… let’s say Scott still wants Kuminga, we had Keon dario and Dennis IN THE OFFSEASON AND COULDNT MAKE ANYTHING HAPPEN WITH ANYBODY!!! 😳😳😳 Call me crazy but I think we can do MORE now with D.Hunter as a trade piece 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️💯💯💯

  7. The Bulls win again. If Doug Christie played Keon Ellis more I do believe we would have gotten a 1st round (why teams opted out). The Dario Saric/Dennis situation.. should have just kept Big Val and let him walk cause we end up paying Chicago to undo that mistake. Hunter cost 10 million more than Schroder and I don't understand how he fits the timeline.

  8. The first big problem with the Kings is that they have no leader. Russ is the newest guy so he doesn't want to step on the other veterans toes plus with his shameful contract money why would he take that responsibility. As for DeRosen, Sabonis and LaVine none of them have leadership qualities and everyone of them thinks he is better than the other two so there is no coordination and team first mentality in the way each one of them play. Some games you find that DeRosen had seven shots attempts in almost thirty minutes, another game it is LaVine's turn to have just seven attempts. This is why they don't put any effort on defense because they just don't care for the result because everyone of them wants to be traded. As for the coach he should be fired even if he is as good as Phil Jakson.because he lost the respect of his team and nobody cares about what he says and he admitted that he calls a play and the players will do another thing. Also all management should be fired. They need the biggest vacuum cleaner to sweep everyone out and start from ZERO.

  9. From what I’ve been hearing a lot of the reported “interest” in Keon began falling off so this was the last option we had. I understand the position Perry is in but of course it’s disappointing

  10. I just want to emphasize that, I will miss Keon Ellis. DeAndre Hunter has potential for sure, but Keon was our guy. A homegrown, productive, young Kings player, who seemed like he really wanted to be here. The Kingdom will miss him in the Kings purple!

  11. I understand this trade. We had to trade Ellis. He was going to walk this offseason. Perry signed shroeder because Domas asked for a point guard in his exit interview last season. Matt is also correct by saying he signed him to a tradable deal just in case it didn’t work out. We sent three players out, making extra roster space. Probably going to sign Cardwell to a standard contract. Should he have extended Keon instead and just sign Westbrook. Probably. Hey, Perry makes moves at least instead of just not doing anything like McNair. He’s working with what he has and a mismatched roster. There’s going to be more moves. The trade deadline isn’t over yet. I think we need to wait and see what happens.

  12. Looks like a good deal to me. Keon has struggled recently to defend without fouling and Schroder looked like a world beater in the summer, but showed almost nothing of that Euro MVP play this season. Makes the Kings longer and more flexible on D, while giving space for more scoring from both inside and the wing. Hunter could be either a piece for another trade, a good backup (if he stays healthy) and can help Nique get better. Looking forward to the next week to see what all is done before the trade deadline.

  13. This is a terrible move Hunter has been awful for 2 years this organization is so poorly run this is the graveyard of the nba sad kings fans deserve better

  14. Really happy for Keon Ellis, he deserves so much better than the Sacramento Kangz. From my late 1st round pick in 2022 on my draft board to the playoff caliber team in Cleveland Cavalier. I can't wait for the playoffs to start. Now, it is time to see what he can do on a really good team. Too bad for Sacramento – no 1st round pick for Keon Ellis. But, Sacramento could actually put together a decent defensive lineup of Cardwell, Achiuwa, Hunter, Clifford and orchestrated by the veteran Westbrook. On the bench, they'll have an explosive offensive lineup. Interesting.

  15. I think this is a good trade for the Kings. Losing Keon sucks, but they move on from Schroder and Saric and they get De Andre Hunter. De Andre Hunter is the type of 3 and D wing player the Kings have needed for a long time. If he is extended, he will be a great forward to pair with Keegan for a long time. If he is not extended, he will be an expiring contract after next season. Let's be realistic. They were not going to get a quality 1st round draft pick for Keon Ellis and they were not going to sign him to an extension.

  16. Completely agree matt. obviously if keon was worth a 1st, deal would already be done. Perry realizing his mistake and making it better is called MATURITY. Bravo.

  17. Hunter fills a positional need for this team; however, he’s not young and he’s not good. Giving up 2 seconds on top of Keon for this guy and no draft picks IS NOT GOING TO RIGHT THIS SHIP SCOTT PERRY! IF THIS TEAM IS REBUILT AROUND SABONIS AND LAVINE, YOU SHOULD BE FIRED!

  18. Love the take, definitely made me think of things in a different light. I’m just glad they traded Keon instead of letting him walk for nothing at the very least.
My biggest gripe with this trade is Hunter’s age, he’ll turn 29 early next season. I get his contract ends after that year, but not getting draft capital and having to instead give up draft capital, worries me.
