[Newby] Danny Briere on NHL Trade Deadline plan — “It’s probably going to be on the quieter side. We’re not looking to unload unless something too good came to us. We’re not looking at rentals…this is not the time to spend assets to try to just get in, to make a push for the playoffs.”

  1. In order to sell, teams need to buy… who’s buying soft middle sixers for the playoff push?

  2. Stuck in the middle even at the trade deadline

I think this franchise as a collective has Stockholm syndrome to mediocrity

  3. At the very least, they need to move Grundstrom for any type of pick. The only other UFA’s are Juulsen, Abols, and Deslauriers. Not sure any team is knocking down the door for those guys lol

  4. I don’t think anyone wants Risto with his injury history lately and we re-signed Dvorak so I don’t expect anything.

Tippets got six years left, that’s a tough fit for a contender. I don’t see Brink generating huge interest at the TDL, more of an offseason type trade.

Is what it is at this point.

  5. It’s too bad we don’t have a 29yo center in the midst of a career year, on an expiring contract. The type of guy who could suddenly become the best asset available if some of the big names move early or are taken off the block. Oh well!

  6. i’d feel better about this organization if i felt like the front office had an actual plan in place for this team but…man i don’t know

  7. They’re not looking to offload means nobody’s getting duped into taking the Flyers trash.

  8. Should be a full court press on both dudes named Travis to sell. They are just gonna waste their primes here anyway. Take back a bad expiring contract to make it happen if need be.

  9. Do nothing, stay mediocre. The flyers way. This wasn’t a rebuild, this was another sham and more false hope, coaching, scouts, management all need to go. He’s made some good trades but drafting and over all vision is ass. Do what they’ve needed to do for years and start over but actually do it this time.
