Really disappointed in the Dodgers for running this pathetic cash grab.

She said in the comments that she paid $150 for each ball. With that steep of a price you would think you’d get a fan favorite. Muncy, Smith, Snell, someone along those lines.

Another comment said that the “Steve Garvey” ball isn’t even his autograph, it’s Rick Dempsey’s. Still a cool find since Dempsey is a World Series MVP, but that was for the Orioles in 1983. Point is, they gave her the wrong ball.

This girl got absolutely robbed at Dodgerfest

  1. Steve Garvey and Mike Scioscia autographed balls are a disappointment?

This is rage bait, isn’t it?

  2. Mystery bag autographs are an IQ test, it’s always gonna be random players. $150 mystery bags shouldn’t even be glanced at.

  3. The Dustin May ball is…. Definitely a wack one for $150 purchase. The Gacha system is everywhere now

  4. I have a ball from 1996 with Nomo Karros Piazza Mondesi. Was after the night of a no hitter

  5. We also got Mike Scioscia, Dustin May, James Outman, and then we traded in for (because we got 2 Dustin May) another mystery bag to get Kenny Landreaux. I’ve also gotten 2 Tony Gonsolins last year. We’re pretty happy about it. Wanted to get a jersey but they ran out in about 30 mins.

  6. $750 on autographed balls. That is a lot.

But yeah the paper says Steve Garvey, but the autograph is Rick Dempsey.

  7. You can never tell if someone is being sarcastic on reddit. She paud money and got something for it. No robbery here.

  8. Mike Scioscia auto ball alone makes it worth the trip, but she also got Garvey and May. Robbed by who? The real question I have is, why they put those expensive things in paper bags.

  9. Look — one time I pulled Craig Kimbrel. I think the best I ever got was Matt Kemp. Of course I think the bags were cheaper then.

  10. Wow 150?! Man last time I went to fan fest they were $40 each and I scored Ryu and Kike.

  11. I have a ball from the ’81 world series team – Russell, hooton, Howe…sadly, I didn’t take very good care of the ball and most of the names have faded (still legible but it was ballpoint pen) and the ball itself has outer cover cracking. 😔

  12. Not necessarily but at least have some wins in there …out of the 5, Scioscia is the only ball that is worth anything…I would rather spend $50 more and get a Will Smith WS signed ball instead of what she got.

  13. Just buy the autos of who you want. Don’t be mad you gambled and lost. But yeah, that’s Dempsey

  14. Autos are almost always gonna be cheaper online and tend not to hold value well. Not sure why someone would buy these beside simply the thrill of the mystery. But bang for your buck they are basically always a bad move. People are saying it’s not about resale but I think the point is what’s fair value, not that you intend to sell. But I guess a beer costs more at the park than outside so it’s whatever.

  15. I thought it was going to be a Julio Urias, three Trevor Bauers, and a Josh Reddick.

  16. Maybe people should just get things they want instead of things they think are worth something to other people.

  17. “ok, ok, we’ll give you a refund….or would you like to pick from the mystery box?”

  18. I don’t know why anyone would drop hundreds of dollars on some greedy cash grab shit. no need to make billionaires richer when you don’t need to. a total ripoff.

  19. My kid got a Phil bickford auto a few years ago for doing the baseball clinic. Not what we expected but he was a lot her for the dodgers. What else can you say. He still has it up in his room. It is what it is.

If you have that much money to drop on random bags AFTER you e pad to enter fanfest, I think you’ll be fine. And if not, why spend it?

  20. How does she have gold lettering on her shirt in the first 2 bags and blue on the rest?

  21. This is why they’re mystery balls. It’s just like buying baseball cards or scratches. The good players, 1/1 or autographed cards and jackpot winning tickets are all very hard to get, with a small percentage chance. It’s a roll of the dice. I would never have spent that much on even one ball because I know the chances are low of getting someone worth it.
