6. He's not going to have his ideal staff in his first year anyway. You take guys you're familiar with and don't have to explain a lot to. You also have to take who's available. I'd like to see him develop some young bright coaches and keep the fresh ideas coming in. Like the really good coaches do. Sure, they'll leave but sometimes you can get some pretty nice draft rewards for that.

16. I believe that people should remember that most of the great quality coaches are already signed to other teams. Give it a couple years for some of these coaches to shake lose from other places and see what McCarthy builds then. Great start so far imo

18. Good morning DK. I agree that the McCarthy hiring would have been received a lot better had we at least brought Shula and Scheelhaase in for in-person interviews. The process just seemed too rushed and felt lazy on Art's part.

19. We will see next season what this new Steelers team looks like. Good or bad, is better than the stale of Tomlin the last few years.

22. We hired Domata Peko…. Last year was his first year coaching. I watched every single CU game last year. That Dline was atrocious. Couldn’t stop the run to save their lives….

25. Let’s talk about it. Why we cutting or not resigning players that going hard for us. Than go to another team. Play as a starter an no in the superbowl. We have had in the passed 7 years our players we develop help take teams to the superbowl and we can’t even win one playoff game wtf

26. Wow , picking assistant coaches that won’t stab him in the back! It’s difficult to find coworkers that don’t regularly stab you in the back, it’s how things are done everywhere! I worked construction for decades and I saw it daily, it was like being in jr high! 🤨

27. A head coach has many distractions to deal with daily, one learn to focus on priorities, what problem needs attacked first and focus on that ! If you’re distracted by your present job while being interviewed for a new job then you’re probably not ready for a HC job where you’ll have many fires to extinguish on an hourly basis!!!! Good hire on Mike McCarthy!!! Good luck coach!

29. Plans to keep the Defensive Backs coach who was good enough that another team wanted him and he left for Minnesota kinda proves they are making good selections

30. If you really think about it, if the Steelers were set on hiring McCarthy why waste the Rams guys time when they have other things to do, it’s actually very considerate of the Steelers not to have them fly all the way across the country for an interview if they weren’t gonna hire them anyway.

31. Obviously, no other teams, including the Steelers, were/are interested in those Rams coaches. So just maybe, Rooney knew what he was doing. I’m softening and even turning away from my rejection of McCarthy and am willing to give him a chance. He may just surprise us all.
