I believe Howard will be a ⭐ ….if anything I'd like to bring in flacco as a bridge ..

Wow 10 wins is a fail!….it's superbowl or go 2-15 ….look if Rodgers retires it's Howard, Rudolph, maybe chamblis,or Thompson!…..and Chamblis isn't the answer unless you want are team to tank!
Why waste a first round pick on a QB that is not a bonafide consensus first rounder. I agree that would should take a QB like Allar in 3rd or 4th.

this is just my opinion.Will Howard may not be the answer but how do you know if you don't let him play?howard was a heisman winner and he acceled at the collegiate level, so why dont the steelers think he will pick up and accel at the pro game? i saw a report that they were looking at either Murray or Jones who have already proven they don't have the chops.again let Howard play, Allen wasn't great his first year and most rookies aren't, it takes time and experience to become a franchise QB.its not going to happen over night.

I feel by coaching staff changes and not playing to lose that’s been in place on offense for decades Steelers will get much improved quarterback play in the coming years . Taking away the middle of the field and consistently throwing badly designed wide receiver screens has really hampered any quarterback from succeeding . Just my opinion. As a coach and a leader Mike Tomlin was good . Hiring the right cordinators and allowing them to run their system is what resulted in lack of real threat to win the Lombardi in the last decade .
Chambliss is not the 3rd best QB in this draft. Allar is better than he is. After all the garbage we went through with Tomlin. After the sorry McCarthy hire. Last 3 years I stopped buying Steeler Merch. Why buy merch from a team whose sorry owner is destroying his father's legacy.
If the main reason McCarthy was brought in was to develop Howard, then it was a useless, stupid hire. Head coaches do not develop players. They are too busy overseeing the entire team. Position coaches and coordinators develop players. Plus, McCarthy has never developed a QB, it's the biggest myth in football.
Drew allar
Rather take Drew Allar in the 5th or 6th. Identical body size and skill set as Howard. Build around Howard. If it don’t work sub in Allar. If either don’t work you got a high enough pick to get a guy
I think the perfect situation for the Steelers would be to go out and get Malik Willis immediately!!!! Keep Will Howard and draft Ty Simpson or Chambliss. That would be a perfect QB room.
Allar is not an NFL qb and never will be. Book it. FACT
I think front offices should reevaluate QB drafting approach. It’s extremely hard to draft a golden boy and nursing him to be a franchise QB anymore. You need a high pick and stable team environment, which can't exist at the same time. Teams like the steelers should always be looking to spend their pick on 1-2 qb each draft every year until they got a capable guy. And even then, dont extend them cause who knows whats going to happen. And capable QB with a rookie contract is the best recipe for Superbowl run.
It would be fun to experiemtn with two qb's at the same time. One who can really throw and one who can really run. Might keep defenses guessing more, especially if both are good blockers as well.
Will Howard ia a franchise QB which is on the Steelers roaster . Cant play the what if game. Will is a fran QB & if he gets the opportunity he will show hiw great he is. Will actually serms 2 me that Will is a combination of Ben & Brady
I dont see the Steelers not at least having McCarhty work out his contract. I dont know if it gets extended but I sure he will b HC 4 Steelers for 5 years.
All for a logical back-up plan, but we didn't get to see Will in pre-season last year. Nothing wrong with a QB competition (Not Allar), but ppl saying Will was a 6th rd pick so pass, is crazy. Steelers have other needs that are pressing specifically WR also ILB and some support in the D backfield or OL. FA market is garbage this year and none of these QBs stand out this draft when those other needs are pressing. If you can get Chambliss after filling the WR need then try it out but dont waste valuable draft capitol this year when next years QB 'appears' more effective.
nope…it would be like the browns having qb competitions every season and getting less than mediocre every year because they didn't focus on ones career Will is the big strong arm steelers type qb…Chambliss isn't even tall enough to see over the line
My thoughts, if they want to bring Rodgers back, bring him in as QB coach.
