One of tge few players in history that got golden glove in rookie season in one of tge most difficult parks for their position…he is too valuable. I think its happened less than 10 times in MLB history?
Edit: Only 2 RF in history
Saw “The Red Sox,” “Wilyer Abreu” and “according to” quickly and thought the worst.
If anyone should be moved it’s Duran. I think Wilyer can get his ops against lefties up to the low .700’s with more reps which is more than solid enough
Im glad they kept him. Truly one of the few big upsides offensively on this team. It’s like Roman, Abreu, Campbell and Casas. Two of those may not start. We need Willys bat.
GOOD.
Good, the defense and the bat make it that the team need to start thinking about locking him up long term sooner than later
There’s no conceivable reason to trade him. He’s cheap for several more years, plays awesome defense, and gets his knocks. A king of surplus value. Plus he’s a hustler, fan favorite, and all around good guy.
I don’t have a problem with not trading Abreu, I have a problem with not trading an outfielder, and to that end I see Duran or Abreu, more likely Duran as the option to trade.
The gold glover with 30 hr potential? Only when he gets to get paid he will leave this team
Good.

I’m glad the Sox aren’t actually looking to move him. I don’t envy Breslow and the front office, given that they have four legitimately above average outfielders and who the fuck knows what to do:
* Roman Anthony is legitimately looking like one of the game’s best young hitters and the future of the team
* Jarren Duran has been one of the most productive outfielders on both sides of the ball over the last 2-3 seasons
* Ceddanne Rafaela is the best defensive CF in baseball and while inconsistent at the plate so far shows offensive upside
* Wilyer Abreu has two Gold Gloves in his two full seasons, has power potential, and can be a complete hitter if he figures out LHP
This is a *good* problem to have but also I personally don’t want to trade any of these four
Of course we aren’t. Good, cheap young player with lots of club control. This is exactly the kind of player you keep.
