BREAKING: RED SOX MADE A BIG TRADE!! Pirates Add BIG POWER Bat, Yankees Just Signed.. (MLB Recap)

The last couple of days saw a flurry of MLB moves as pitchers and catchers report looms. The Yankees are indeed “running it back,” re-signing veteran 1B Paul Goldschmidt to a one-year deal (around $4M), adding depth and a solid vet bat against lefties for first base competition. The Rays bolstered their rotation depth by signing swingman RHP Nick Martinez to a one-year, $13M contract. The Marlins added back-end starter RHP Chris Paddack on a one-year, $4M deal (with incentives), while the White Sox re-signed RHP Erick Fedde to a one-year pact for rotation stability despite recent struggles. In trades, the Red Sox acquired INF Caleb Durbin, INF Andruw Monasterio, and INF/C Anthony Seigler (plus a draft pick) from the Brewers for LHP Kyle Harrison, INF David Hamilton, and LHP Shane Drohan—a swap giving Boston infield help and Milwaukee pitching upside. The Pirates landed power bat DH Marcell Ozuna from the Braves on a one-year, $12M deal to boost their lineup. Finally, the Mets signed former top prospect OF MJ Melendez to a one-year, $1.5M split contract (with incentives) for outfield depth and upside. These mostly low-risk, bounce-back or depth additions reflect teams fine-tuning rosters right before spring training.

  1. Brewers had the best record when they were a bunch of self described “nobodies” so as per typical baseball superstition, they’re gonna maintain a roster of nobodies 😂

  2. Fuzzy, you are 100% correct with the Yanks running the same exact lineup as last season but i'll try to explain Cashman's thought process a little bit… Cashman believes that because players that got injured last season will be back that its a totally different lineup.

Which, no.. It's the same. Yanks front office is basically like the government during the whole epstein files saga. They think we are all mentally challenged and that they know better and will gaslight the hell out of their fan base because of it.

    Sincerely,
    Yankee fan for 30+ years.

  3. Brewers lost their T.V. deal. That's 40M in revenue no longer coming their way. They actually can't afford to go over a 140M payroll, & their 2 Billion dollar owner cant pauly the frieght himself otherwise he wont be a billionaire for long. Because that would require a WS victory to pay off bumping up payroll to 180+M for 3-5 years & go all in (& im a Cubs fan) Then they fail mist likely & spent all their resources for nothing but to start at the beginning & build it all back up again from Farm system & drafting.

  4. I'm okay with trading away Freddy cause he will ask a lot for a big contract (he does deserve) but trading away Caleb Durbin for some depth in starting lineup is where it doesn't make sense… We already got zerpa, gasser, Hall, Ashby. Now, yes, some have been relievers but not intended to stay there. That's why I feel it doesn't make sense to trade away Durbin. Durbin you will be missed immensely.

  5. I truly don’t understand what the brewers are doing this year? They just threw away their roster that led the mlb last year.. I’m grateful as a dodgers fan though. They didn’t even give them a chance to play it back
