  1. meh. I mean he didn’t have a bad season, but he wouldn’t be my first choice. Maybe someone to keep an eye on but I wouldn’t freak out over it.

  2. Bears should be in position to grab guys that “just want to win” vs overpaying washed guys

  3. I think signing a guy like this makes sense given the current roster makeup. Dayo, Sweat, Booker and Tryon-Shoyinka are all under contract for 2026. Get him on a 2/3-yr deal and hope the injury issues he had in Denver stay away. If he can put up numbers close to his two full seasons in Miami (19.5 sacks), I like him as a starter opposite Sweat with Booker used as a situational pass rusher.

That leaves DT and S as the primary focuses on draft day

  4. This would be an upgrade over Dayo (who won’t be ready for next season anyway). You’re then looking at Sweat, Chubb, a hopefully ascending Booker, and an early draftee. That’s a pretty solid swing on a rotation at a premiere position.

  5. I think he’s going to get some interest around the league, even though he’s been something of an underwhelming player for what his draft spot was.

I wouldn’t want to sign him for 20M a year or anything close to that… but something like 10-12M/yr would be good, for like a 2 year deal.

  6. I thought the Bears wanted to trade for him but either Miami wasn’t moving him or he was hurt? I can’t remember but they did have interest in him last year at the deadline.

  7. I’d take him over Mack(age), Trey(cost and Bengals pulling shit), Crosby (cost plus what we have to give up). Do it Poles. Get us that 3rd DE to add to our rotation.

  8. Could he sign for cheap? I mean, he still has guaranteed money in his contract. Something similar to when Russel Wilson signed with the Steelers after his Denver stint.

Like if he signed a new contract, it offset money off his Miami contract, no? Please correct me if I’m wrong.

  9. Only 29 years old. Bears could be a huge improvement in coaching to revive his career (feels weird to say that).

This makes a ton of sense. Then they can hammer nose and back 7 in the draft.

  10. it’d be the biggest bears fans thing ever to complain about Montez Sweat and desire a slightly older Montez Sweat

  11. He’s not bad for being a sack specialist. But he would primarily be depth. I think he will go to the Rams or the Niners. But for him it’ll be specifically for sacks when he’s healthy. And a locker room presence provided we get rid of some veterans now.

  12. Miami has the hottest fire sales.

I’m glad we do not need a receiver. We know how Poles gets with flashy skill players. Haha. He’s talented but I wouldn’t want that dude on this roster.

  13. Would love to snag him and 1 or 2 Dline guys earl in draft and we could have a very amped up overhauled Dline

  14. He’s not his former self. If we can get him on a friendly contract sure, but I’d still want to start an Edge with an early round pick.
