We have only ever finished 9-8 once in NFL history (2022).

It’s 10-7, THEN wildcard playoff exit. Get it right.

The standard is the standard.

  1. Tomlin was really struggling to win the division after Ben retired until they lucked out with the shanked field goal.

  2. 9-8 is more than a literal number. It represents being slightly better than average, and then getting blown out in the first round cause we aren’t actually good enough to hang with them.

  3. Counting the playoffs, the steelers are 49-45 since starting 11-0 in ’20. Mediocrity perfected.

  4. That far right column is the one that has everyone upset. Not the exact record. It is also the extremely annoying no losing season talking point that is not a real accomplishment unless you win more than 3 playoff games in 15 years.

  5. Yeah we beat it by 0.5 to 1 game most years we’re so much better than 9-8, remove the memes!

Keep the “Lost WC” memes going though, that one is quite consistent.

  6. The 9-8 is meant to denigrate tomlin’s record of never finishing below .500. He’s got a 9-8 and three 8-8 over that span.
