  1. On top of all that, it came on a series-clinching game that sent this team to the World Series!

  2. Shohei’s performance(s) the past off-season were criminally underrated. Peoplea tend to forget he got on base 9 times in a single game.

  3. Will never forget the experience being at that game. Shut out game and pure homers. Ohtani outdid himself.

  4. I saw it happen, and I couldn’t believe it. Then I watched it again, knowing exactly what to expect, and I still couldn’t believe it. He’s so amazing.

  5. I remember thinking to myself “this isn’t fair” when he hit the third one. Lmao. Truly lucky to have him on our team.

  6. It brings me great joy knowing fans of other teams and the usual haters had to hold the L while this man ruined baseball.

    I love ruining baseball!

  7. Ancient history. Let’s move on.
Been rooting for this team since 1955. This might be strongest team they have ever had. They
may not beat Blue Jays in WS if they get there.
If the bats get sleepy agin vs NL playoff opponents, they won’t get there !!! Long season. Enjoy the journey. Forget about 3 peat. It’s better for baseball if they don’t repeat. We are the payroll behemoth and I’m sick of hearing about it !

  8. Ohtani has had so many historic games, I’m having trouble remembering them. Not in any particular order but there is

-This 3 home run 10 strikeout game in the NLDS

-2 HR, 2 double, and 5 walks in the 18-inning WS game

-6 for 6 (3 home runs, 2 doubles, and a single) and 2 stolen base game in which he broke the 50-50 mark (Sept. 19, 2024)

Which other ones am I missing?

  9. I bought tickets last minute for this game and I’ll forever be glad that I did. I can’t believe I got to witness this in person.

  10. I was there with my dad sitting field level. A moment I’ll remember for the rest of my life!!!

  11. I remember seeing him walk up his first at bat and not seeing the signature smile and thought damn he’s locked in. Yeah he was locked in alright

  12. Shohei is the only athlete that I can think of where people express so much gratitude for being able to witness him. He’s described at times less like a person and more like a celestial event occurring “once in 100 years” or “once in forever” like Joe Davis does.

I watch almost every game and at bat just to soak in and appreciate what I’m seeing cause it feels so special.

  13. I was there and then got into a car accident on the way home and ended up in the hospital. Still best day ever.

  14. I was supposed to go to this game but got sick lol

Was nose blled seats, watching at home was cool to

  15. Being at left pavilion, my partner and I got so drunk and was yelling so much. What an experience!

  16. Frustrated with the level of play he has encountered during his first week of competition in the American major leagues, Japanese baseball phenom Shohei Ohtani told reporters Monday that he’d hoped American players wouldn’t be this bad. “When I decided to leave Japan to sign with the [Los Angeles] Angels, I thought I’d have to push myself to compete at the next level, but this has all been way too easy,” said the 23-year-old after a dominant performance on the mound and the batter’s box, adding that his new peers were hardly a step up from the lowly Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. “At first, I thought the guys were just messing with me, but when I homered three times in three days and took a perfect game into the seventh inning the day after that, well…Turns out I’m just better than everyone else. This honestly wasn’t even worth the money.” Reporters confirmed Ohtani seemed bored and listless throughout the interview, answering questions while tossing 94 mile-per-hour warm-up pitches in the bullpen with his off hand.

  17. Yeah this was good but what about the random no hitter from the 70’s against the Reds? It was way more impressive 😂🤣

For context this was a legit thread on r/baseball claiming this.

  18. Greatest post season run I’ve witnessed in my life so far. I don’t even recall how many times I lost my shit. That really was a team of destiny.

  19. And and… and.. if the damn Yankees don’t commit 3 errors in 5th inning, they don’t win in 2024 either. There’s lots of luck in this game of inches. So we blue-brains have been blessed with a 5year supply of memory crack to ingest whenever we want to. And it feels great. 😊 Dont get me wrong. The NcCourt years were horrible especially closing down DODGERS
    MECCA, Vero Beach!
When we were injured, the Pirates swept Blue in Pittsburgh. So, if everybody is healthy , they should win and beat the snot out of the have-nots!!! Should. They have to hit when these pitchers are putting up zeroes. Yup. Hit the ball. Can’t wait for opening day. And the 3 game rematch with Jays April 25th!

  20. I’ll never understand how he so easily golfs those inside pitches out of the field.

I played in a rec league filled with A/AA-tier guys and hitting against opposite handed pitchers was my nightmare when their inside pitches track in on you, moreso when it’s 85mph+. I can’t imagine batting against 95+.

And god damn your hands if you get jammed, feels like your hands will shatter from the vibrations.

  21. I’ll never forget watching this game in a Tokyo sports bar at 9am ripping tequila shots with the salarymen who were there “working remotely”

  22. You guys should be worshiping the ground Arte Moreno walks on. If he wasn’t such a complete and total moron, the Dodgers wouldn’t have Ohtani on their team.

  23. The only player with a chance of putting together a better game than that is Shohei Ohtani.

It’s amazing what he has accomplished in just two years in Dodger Blue. It doesn’t seem real.
