Keegan!
Great job with this interview Nick.
I get being optimistic, Nick, but come on. That's not a 99-win team as presently constructed, especially in a division where Boston has a young and improving core and Baltimore has made adjustments and is due for positive regression. I'm with Keegan on this: this division won't be decided until the final weekend, and it wouldn't surprise me to see it be a three-team or even a four-team race come Game 162.
It's also a weird sked in that we only play the Orioles after August 23, so those "games in May and June are just important as games in September" is going to ring more true now.
I’d like the jays to trade Varsho for a legit closer and platoon the righty lefty Straw and Lukes in CF
You probably can't roster Barger and Sanchez; and then trade Lukes.
Lukes will provide the minimum expected value at the very least.
Despite the success and highlights; Barger still fell well short in terms of value last year; and Sanchez has never been as valuable as Lukes in a season.
Hopefully Barger does what everyone thinks he will, but tripling his WAR will be tough in about the same playing time.
He was also -5 run value on the fastball. Gotta figure that out.
Good job Nick!!!
NIck – great interview with Keegs! 👏
Expectations need to be lowered for Okamoto. It seems like people have Seiya Suzuki level expectations for him. But Suzuki was way better in Japan.
Suzuki 315 AVG 414 OBP 570 SLG 16.1% strike out rate
Okamoto 277 AVG 361 OBP 521 SLG 17.7% Strike out rate
I think 235 AVG 315 OBP 420 SLG is about what he will do in year 1. By year 3 I could see him being a 255 AVG 340 OBP 450 SLG
Great video, so happy to hear that Keegan thinks Lukes will be on the team. Why no talk about Barger , he can be that great outfielder , you say the Jays need. Also Eric Lauer is being really disrespected ! I can see that unfortunately Davis Schneider will be an odd man out ! Talk About Eloy Jimeniz , is he a bat !!
I think it was the right move, to move on from Bo !! The bonus is that he is in the National League ! It will be interesting to see how he performs in New York without the security blanket of being in Toronto !
Nick…do more interviews.
I do think Okamoto will be good. But, I'm also worried about how he will be year 1. Big changes for him to deal with. Completely new surroundings, different culture etc.
I hope he adapts well!
Keegan, your there to give the kid some credibility I'm supposing – Good-Luck on that front. Nick needs to watch more people in this industry and then find his own voice. As well, he needs to learn more, think more and stopping being a cheer leader for Corp. needs and wants. If you can't do that for any number of reasons then get out of the field because either your not cut out for it, or the industry itself is simply to rotten to the core to make it possible. But if your going to do this then do it right and stop being a FCUKing cheerleader. The world as enough FCUKing idiots we don't need any more. Keegan, you speak to the kid, its fine to say your doing a good job, but if he's not the best thing you can do for him is give him honesty and the type of advise which will actually help him no keep him doing which over time isn't going to build him squat. The End. Good-Luck and Good-Bye.
