[Seattle Seahawks] Estate of Paul G. Allen Begins Sale Process for Seattle Seahawks

  1. I’m just a guy from North Dakota who lucked into my Seahawks fandom because he liked using Shaun Alexander in Madden, but I’ll still be forever thankful for what the Allens did for this franchise and city.

  2. Praying for a good outcome here, but it seems unlikely. I don’t want to root for a team owned by a neo-nazi and that seems like a distinct possibility.

  3. Grateful they got another ring. While I don’t think the new owner will destroy the team, anything is possible.

  4. We knew this was coming. Let’s just hope the new owners care as much as the Allen family did

  5. I know he’s a gazillion years old, but maybe the Costco guy? And we’d get $1.50 costco hot dogs

  6. Oh man it is finally happening. The most significant change this team will face in decades. Make or break.

Really hope the fans and city do not get screwed.

  7. I have a feeling it’s not necessarily gonna be a local owner. So many billionaires out there who probably want an NFL team. It might not even be one owner. Look at how Tom Brady got in with Raiders.

I hope for owner who won’t move the team and will keep our culture. My gawd we just won the superbowl.

  8. I don’t want Bezos because I think he’ll meddle in ways that will hurt the on-field product.

  9. Everyone should be concerned about this. The last 20+ years of Seahawks football has been relatively successful because of good ownership. Owners who were smart enough to know what they didn’t know about football, and to leave the Football decisions in capable hands. Now even bad ownership can have good years, but franchises with sustained success have good owners. There’s no escaping bad ownership, no amount of players, coaches, etc. can escape meddling owners.

  10. Really hope whoever buys is a die hard Seattle native and understands what this team means to our city. I also hope the go in with a “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mentality

  11. In the history of US sports, never has there been a franchise owner who bought a team as a way of giving back to the city. Paul never cared for football, and honestly probably paid least amount of attention to it compared to all others.

He hired right and then focused on his music and other interests. He paid to make sure the team had the highest quality and standards, he spared no expense but then let the experts do their thing.

He truly was the best owner (and Jody,) and I am grateful as fan for the run they gave us.

I’m gonna trust they will have the same regard for the team in their last act as to who they will sell it to.

Raising a glass to Paul and Jody.

  12. Here’s to Melinda Gates, MacKenzie Scott and Jody Allen buying the team. All of the money would essentially be big donations to philanthropic endeavors and Jody could continue influencing the team in a meaningful way…
