I remember as soon as we acquired the Orlando pick after moving down in the draft, people liked getting a pick but most viewed it as a low ceiling type pick that would likely be in the 20s.
well, not even a year later you have Paolo who has not taken the extra steps in his game that were expected, and Franz is starting to look extremely injury prone. There is absolutely a world where that Orlando pick is in the lottery. This is why getting future unprotected first round picks from teams is ALWAYS good business. You just never know in sports.

Their cap sheet isn’t looking too great in 2028 if they stall out. They’re so dry on FRPs that this team will be static until then

Blazers tragic aside, I’m actually sad to see this reality for Mos. When he didn’t make it to the NBA as a player he came down to my home town and played for my team in the Aussie league. We used to go to a pub the players always frequented after the game. Had a lot of good conversations with him. He’s a really good guy. I was rapt when he was doing so well at Dallas and Luka loved him. Unfortunately he’s proven to be a very good assistant coach nit he just hasn’t been able to help Orlando take the next step this year.
Potentially great for us. Bad for him.
