“For most people, this statement is the first time they heard about this story.” #SDP #Senators #NHL

  1. This is where I wish there were actual legal consequences for stuff like this. Far too many people online are comfortable with not being held accountable for stuff that would get your teeth separated from your face in real life. Hopefully the law eventually catches up and there can be some legal recourse.

  2. Although not needed, good for Ottawa sticking up for Linus. As a club who's maybe over sensitive from the past at least I see this statement as well intentioned. Also. What ever Linus is doing or dealing with I hope him nothing but positive vibes and success.

  3. It's weird to me that so few people had evidently heard of this prior to the statement, because in the hockey chats I'm a part of, literally EVERYONE was talking about it. A large majority of them even believed it was true.

  4. The problem was the wording but in this day and age (given the harrasment players and spouses get on social media) they had to address it (they just, again, addressed it poorly lol).

  5. You know. This makes me think back in the early '00 when Selena Gomez canceled a meet and greet and two concerts because she had to go to the hospital.

And some idiot put up that she has gone to rehab and that started a wildfire on how she was into drug use and all that bs… and then finally her agent had to come online and go Yes she is in rehab… for LUPIS. You're dragging the poor girls name into mud because she is sick!

  6. Yeah saw it on twitter and immediately thought it wasn’t true. When it’s just a random person on twitter saying something like this it’s pretty hard to believe.

  7. I didn't know about the rumor until the Sens came out with the statement. Honestly, and I obviously could be wrong, the Sens coming out with that statement makes me believe that the rumor is true.

  8. At first, I took the rumor with the same amount of seriousness as the Corey Perry and Bedard’s mom rumor. Funny, but ultimately just a ridiculous meme/guess. Now, after the senator’s official statement and Brady Tkachuk’s statement, it makes me wonder if there’s actually something to it after all lol.
