Former Los Angeles Kings Defenseman In Spotlight of NHL Trade Rumors

  1. Okay then. Idk what he thought was coming when he signed up, but whatever. Gonna be an absurd few years for NYR

  2. Kind of a double whammy for him. He could’ve gotten more money this offseason and he’s on a sinking ship. This sucks a lot for us, but I don’t blame him

  3. Just rumors for now, but I wouldn’t blame him. This feel more like a summer move than a deadline move, tbh. My guess is all the guys with a NMC re-evaluate their desire to be Rangers, and whether or not they want to be a part of this or if they want to try and win somewhere else, after the season ends.

I can see a world in which they all elect to stay, but I could also see guys like Mika, Gav, JT asking to leave for a chance to win. Fox’s situation is gonna depend on his relationship with the coach and GM, considering all the team USA stuff, but I think he ultimately stays. Igor, I think he stays, as well. The other 3 guys, though, I could see them asking out for a chance to win somewhere.

  4. He just got here. I highly doubt he waives. *Maybe* to a team somewhat nearby? But he wanted to come here and I don’t think he’s in a rush to move out.

  5. Drury masterclass. This team was a 1RW and a top 4 puck moving defenseman away from contending. 11 trades later and we’re further away than ever.

  6. If Gavrikov wants to go then that raises antennas about Igor’s future.

Welcome to hell rangers fans. We truly are with the Knicks were for over 20 years, and there are certainly a scenario that is developing in which we might have a similarly long road of futility.

Any player worth a damn is going to get traded off the team except for a few people who have such diabolically bad contracts we cannot offload them

We have one of the worst general managers in recent hockey history with a terrible owner who treats development staff, as if we were a poverty franchise

We legitimately might be looking at the type of scenario where a franchise makes the playoffs once in 15 years. We are going to be the knocks now where we have a lot of cap space and are always talked about as a destination, but no one will want to come here.

  7. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. It sucks but it just clearly shows Drury needs to go. At this point I’d rather have Gorton back and he wasn’t great either. Drury could have retooled efficiently after the loss to Florida. Instead he fumbled and keeps digging himself into a deeper hole
