  1. From Anna Dua
Maple Leafs lineup notes ahead of Wednesday’s game against Tampa Bay:
    – Dakota Joshua (lacerated kidney) is good to go, will have his time managed since a back-to-back out of the gate is a heavy workload
    – Decision to be made whether Easton Cowan will play or not in Tampa (served as a placeholder at practice)
    – John Tavares, missed Tuesday’s practice with the flu, is feeling better and will get a skate in tomorrow morning in Tampa
    – No further update on Chris Tanev

  2. David Pagnotta: Re Sharks: They're still listening on their defensemen; they still have Mario Ferraro and Timothy Liljegren and Vincent Desharnais and John Klingberg; I think they're gonna move a couple of them

  3. Good no trades and no fire sale is the best option – If matthews does not play then get rid of him – I`ve said it for years get rid of him anyway – and more motivation is inviting kash patel in the dressing room to party – what a trader to Canada – I doubt if the leafs will ever win a cup with that tool on the team – I too would like to see Macelli on the top line

  4. Elliotte Friedman on the FAN Hockey Show on the Leafs:
"I think what they'd love to do is see if they can accumulate some assets and then see if they can use those assets to do something else that helps them, that's the way I've kind of looked at them"

  5. Given past playoff history, I don’t think it’s crazy to try to squeak into the playoffs. Once there, anything could happen. Toronto is not a bad team. If by some miracle Taney could return, I’d give them a fighting chance to make some noise in the playoffs. If Stolarz and Woll are at their best, they can steal some gamesk, and that can make all the difference in the playoffs. It was only two years ago taht the Panthers barely edged into the playoff and then won the cup.

And to repeat something I’ve said in a prior comment, they’d be out of their mind to trade McMann unless they get a first round draft pick AND a decent NHL player. McMann is proven and seems to get better every year – draft picks are a gamble that can amount to nothing. The Leafs totally f’d up when they let Hyman go – they simply cannot do that again. I’m not saying McMann is Hyman’s caliber, but he’s too good to let go.

  6. Even if somehow the Leafs managed to add a superstar that manages to get the Leafs to squeek into the playoffs this year, the Leafs still WOULD NOT have a team good enough to go far into the playoffs. So the only good reason for the Leafs to be buying and going hard to get into the playoffs would be to chase all the additional financial revenues that the Leafs would get by being in the playoffs.

  7. Treliving's misreading of this roster and Goaltending is EXACTLY why the Leafs will miss the playoffs. Treliving had several chances to turn the season around and he just sat on his ass and did nothing. There were injury holes that needed to be filled but he just doubled down thinking the injured roster would hold until the injured players got back. And when the season was starting to slide he kept thinking it was a blip in the season. The coach does NOT fit this roster build and the reason this season is now lost is because treliving kept thinking that the roster would eventually adjust to Berube's style and the injured roster would turn things around with the injured roster. Treliving MUST go before he can do any more damage to this roster than he already has. And he can take Berube with him
