The Minnesota Vikings likely have three realistic options for who is to play Quarterback next season. Maybe four. But who are they? Regardless of who is QB1, 2 or 3, I don't see this team making the playoffs in 2026/27.

McCarthy has/had potential
Gets hurt so we lose that year behind Sam , throwing the ball learning the system( beyond mentally) OK
So he will have to jump in
Again injuries slowed his progress, inconsistencies, some growth showed
But at this stage with the offensive framework, there was expectancy to be further ahead, and knowing more definitely is he our QB or not
Again now with a defense capable of winning now
Offense rt there less our QB woes
McCarthy needs a really strong off season learning to read defenses, learn the system to be able to run it fast seamlessly to avoid unnecessary penalties, and hiking the ball before the play clock hits 6 seconds remaining ( stopping those defenses from jumping the gun, destroying momentum)
A lot to ask but that's the reality
So you have to have an alternative to slip in seamlessly and than that may mean JJM is pushed to the back
And of course fans ,media Wilfs second guessing everything , adds to continued mess
10:20 the Wilfs have always been too stupid to think long term and just do a true rebuild. One reason why we can never have a draft pick high enough to get a true QB1. Now the Bears are set up to be good for the next 10 years.
The media is the biggest problem of the NFL
This is obsession sport fans. Develop the narrative and then beat it into the rubes like a dead horse. Sport fans are stupid.
I have a couple of minor criticisms about some of the comments made. First, hiring all of O'Connell's pals reminds me of nepotism. That is not always a good thing! Second, Judd made the comment that he has no idea whether McCarthy is any good are not.The guy was 6-4. You must see some potential? JJ had a number of injuries but you name me a QB that hasn't? Cousins was a rarity whereby you can go that long without a major injury! Did you know that 300lb NFL players were rare in 1970's and now it's about 500? NFL players are 60 lbs heavier than 50 yrs ago! There is going to be more injuries!

McCarthy played great at the end of the season. What is the mystery here? McCarthy can make throws very few qbs can.
The level of play was not good enough guys because the level of coaching was absolutely got awful. The play calling was got awful. Are you forgetting what Carson Wentz look like getting his ass kicked every two seconds behind that offensive line there were no adjustments made how can you even evaluate a quarterback position with what Kevin O’Connell throughout there for a game planning
The way to play qb position is same as Jets. Do you want Willis for 40 million a year? Then can you get Ty Simpson? Then we need two veterans and drafted qb in fifth round. McCarthy should be cut. But it’s too embarrassing. He will be cut if KOC wants to be coach in 27.
