Bridges trade clears but this was great
PS: There’s zero downsides. We’ve already gotten **way** more out of MPJ than we could’ve ever imagined. We can always trade him in the summer, or simply keep him and have be apart of our future. He’s not old.
And if MPJ just doesn’t reach the same heights as this season ever again, not that big of a deal. We still got an unprotected first rounder out of it. Who knows what the Nuggets will be like in 2032?
I can’t think of a better trade Marks has made in his tenure than this.
The whole “trade for a bad contract to get additional asset(s) but the bad contract actually gains value” is becoming a Marks special. Reminds me of a much better version of the DeMarre Carroll acquisition.
2nd to the Bridges trade, but tbh the Bridges trade is one of the greatest fleeces of all time.
Wait till you see the FRP value he gets for Michael Porter, Jr.
This trade is definitely working out well. MPJ could be flipped for more assets or still young enough to be part of the next version of this team. He’s a 6’10” bucket getter, not a whole lot of those in the league.
I’m still hoping that KD deal goes down as the best in history. From subsequent deals from that trade we got 10 FRPs from that KD deal.
I do agree but MPJ is still one injury away from career ending. Cam Johnson has been pretty bad on the Nuggs though
