He also goes on to say that against non-playoff opponents, he’s 7-3-3 with a .877 sv%. Just something interesting and a positive takeaway from today!

  1. Definitely doesnt let a lineup or superstar overwhelm him, he just plays and thats great to see

  2. Good against good…. bad against bad… not sure what you can really make of that

  3. One of the more paradoxical things about the Minnesota Wild franchise is that despite constructing defensive and grinding type roster, Kuemper, Khudobin, and Harding are really the only noteworthy goalies we’ve drafted. Yet the Wild have rarely had a tandem that could be considered bad or below league average.

Wallstedt really shows potential to basically be the first goalie we ever drafted that backstops us to sustained success.

  4. Hockey reporters not drawing dramatic conclusions from 11 game samples, challenge level: impossible.

  5. I love him regardless…he is young and needs to learn. He has so much heart and that is what matters

  6. Reading his quotes from the Atlantic write up he definitely had some stress lifted off him. I think he really wanted to stay here and got validated when he ended up staying.

“Obviously it’s nice to get that done and past. You never know,” he said. “It’s my first year in the league and then you hear that type of stuff. Obviously, you’re reading it. I think in the back of the mind I wouldn’t say you’re scared, but you’re aware that something could happen and obviously I love it here. I want to play here, so very, very happy that that’s done and now we can look forward to the rest of the season.”

  7. I’m wondering how he turned that around this year?
He was not playing nearly this well last year when called up.
