People want to know daily , why there are negative comments.

I don't think it's too much to ask to not be in this tier

  1. Weirdly specific cut off date, almost like it was chosen to make the Mets look as bad as possible……

  2. We know why there are negative comments, we just think y’all sound pathetic. It’s a baseball game. Grow a pair.

That being said, the Mets have not been good. It’s upsetting. You have a right to be upset. You can even say crazy shit. I’m just gonna call you a little bitch if you act like one. And guess what?! You can get upset about that too!

Or you can not. Personally, I find life better when I’m not upset. There’s a lot of baseball left.

  3. Yeah this is the sort of disastrous performance that could actually justify canning a manager this early into the season. They won’t, but clearly something is rotten

  4. This is pretty brutal to see. No way to spin it. Wondering what it would take to fire Mendoza. I looked up when the Phillies fired Girardi and went to Thompson (since that is the dream coaching change outcome). June 3rd at 22-29.

Also – no one is asking anyone to be happy or optimistic. We are all unhappy with the Mets and concerned for the season. It’s the insistence on being completely miserable and hyperbolic whining non-stop. We are all capable of whining, but believe it or not no one wants to read grown men whining for hours on end

  5. If you use mid June or so as a sarting point, from 24-25 we were one of if not the best team in baseball. From 25-26 the second worse.

That’s either baseball being baseball, or what people on here say it is, Senga went down with the hammy from poor defense, pitching and defense snowballed, ruined the vibes, team just kept getting worse and worse. Who knows what the real cause is, but to go from the best to the worst is not just a slump, something happened.

They need to bring in someone that can manage 26 professional athletes and their egos

  6. Yeah this is also why the revisionist history about Alonso, Nimmo and McNeil is ridiculous too. We weren’t winning shit with them and people bitched about them all the fucking time.

  7. Yep. They gutted the coaching staff but didn’t make the full push. This is an organizational issue and they need to drop Mendoza to try and salvage things.

He just isn’t going to be able to turn this team around. He got lucky with great vibes in 2024, somehow survived the collapse last year and now it’s time to just get it over with. This isn’t a 2026 issue, it has been a problem for awhile.

  8. Yikes. The problem is this is a very different team from last year yet producing the same shitty results

  9. someone needs to do a breakdown of dollars/win in that span. a lot of these teams are small market teams

  10. We just have to hope it will turn around LMAO, but in reality Small Market Stearns blew this team up

  11. Also crazy fact about that group. If you remove Mike Trout’s salary, all of the other teams combined have a lower total payroll than the Mets.
