  1. Fuck yeah! Wonder if he will be GM and POHO or if we are looking for a separate POHO

  2. I’m a huge Devils fan, and have been since the 80’s. But I admit I’m not as knowledgeable about the behind the scenes stuff as many of y’all. Can someone explain to me why we’re so pumped about Mehta being our next GM? What did he do while he was with the team before? Thanks in advance for the education.

  3. I’m happy they didn’t wait too long. I hope he decides to clear out a lot of the other people in this front office that deserve to be fired too.

  4. Haha Toronto is going to be so bummed. There was a lot of chatter about him going there.

  5. Is there a pool for how long it will be before this Reddit turns from euphoria to fire this asshole?

  6. Glad we got this taken care of quickly! Lots of work to be done. This is hopefully the beginning of a big bounce back season!

  7. Massive win here. Not a retread, a jersey boy, and if what’s I’ve read on his time in Florida holds true he was a massive part of their success.

  8. Who’s Sunny (and the Panthers know):

    Super cool life story:

    • Born in Michigan, but moved to NJ as a kid and counts himself as a Jersey native.

    • Played varsity hockey for Ramapo High School.

    • Graduated Uni Miami Frost School of Music as a jazz guitarist, and became a professional musician in N’Orleans.

    • Became a pro poker player in Vegas, co-authoring poker strategy books.

    • Became an options trader, trading the Chicago Board of Trade.

    • Consulted with the Arizona Coyotes in 2010.
    • Joined the Devils in 2014 under Lou, as the NHL’s first ever Director of Hockey Analytics (stayed till 2017-18 season)

    • Masters in Data Science from City Uni of NY

    • Consulted at WSH 2019.

    • Senior Data Scientist for 6 MLB teams

    • Joined FLA in 2020, VP Hockey Strategy & Intelligence. Promoted to AGM and Head of Analytics 2023. 2 Stanley Cups.

    • Returning to the Devils now as GM, and hopefully bring a ton of expertise and data science to a franchise that frankly is batting way below its par score.
