New Orleans Saints’ NFL Draft Strategy Could Shift After WR Jordyn Tyson’s Private Workout

Jordan Tyson’s private workout could reshape the New Orleans Saints’ draft plans, igniting speculation about the eighth overall pick. With Tyson aiming to prove himself post-hamstring injury, all eyes are on whether he’ll join Chris Olave and Tyler Shough as a dynamic weapon for Kellen Moore’s offense.

The Saints could also entertain a rare trade-down scenario, weighing their options among top prospects like Carnell Tate, Caleb Downs, Mansoor Delane, Rueben Bain Jr., and Makai Lemon. Meanwhile, UCF edge rusher Malachi Lawrence impresses as a potential late-Day 1 or Day 2 target, offering the athleticism and production teams covet.

  1. I like to have this thought experiment: if a team made their goal to include as many possible picks in rounds 2 and 3 as possible…
Somehow, I think this would work, provided you had a franchise QB already.

  2. If one more person say the Saints will draft Tyson at 8 I’m going to lose my mind. There’s no way in heck Saints will draft an injury prone WR at 8. Stop acting like Tyson is the next Jamarr Chase or JJ, he is NOT

  3. More times than not in sports, Poor conditioning, including weak muscles, poor flexibility, and lack of proper warm-ups, significantly increases the risk of soft tissue injuries like sprains, strains, and tendonitis. Unconditioned tissues fail to handle excessive loads, leading to tears and chronic inflammation, often caused by sudden, intense activity or repetitive overuse. Prevention requires a gradual increase in training intensity, proper technique/hydration, and regular stretching. Preventing soft tissue injuries usually involves specific training techniques and conditioning the body to respond better to physical effort.

The following strategies from the AAOS may help prevent injury:

warming up before and cooling down after exercising
focusing on maintaining the right technique during workouts
    drinking plenty of water
scheduling rest days between intense exercises
practicing stretching and not stretching to the point of pain
gradually increasing the intensity and duration of exercise

  4. I've been thinking about this a lot… I can't imagine some of these teams who need a lineman not taking one in the top 10.
I think the chance of getting a great player is high, but taking a WR? That's foolish to me when people are paying a premium for edge rushers like Max Crosby.
If we take a WR, I think that player becomes Chris Olave insurance or replacement.
If we take DE, we feel good about the WR in this draft and taking one in the second round.
If the Cowboys call with 2 first round picks, TAKE IT! Especially if OUR player isn't there at 8! I love the Bengals idea. I think we can still end up with a Mansoor Delane, Chris Bell, and Jacob Rodriguez in this case! We already won the draft if this happens!
Thanks, Ross, for your hard work! I don't know how you do it, but when you do what you love… Who Dat!

  5. Why does the Saints have such an obsession with injury prone players like Jordan Tyson, Nick Saldiveri, Payton Turner, Marcus Davenport, Kendre Miller and then complain, when they’re hurt?

  6. If the saints have a guy in mind with their second pick, they can absolutely effect the entire draft by not taking a risk on Tyson and get their guy. I think they can probably trade up with the 49ers

  7. I don’t think the saints can afford to draft an injury prone receiver at 8 when your main receiver Olave has the same issue, I would rather see the saints take The Oregon TE than take Tyson at 8 ! But me personally the only offensive player I want the saints to take at 8 is Tate or the Oregon TE , but id rather see them take Downs or Delane or Bain
