Trey lance is the 9th biggest draft bust of all time
– some guy's opinion

Lance is certainly up there.
Was only QB3 for Dallas after the trade.
Career backup is his ceiling.
BUST.
Hate to throw shade on my own team, but Lance should probably be higher, given what we gave to move up. We gambled everything on that pick and whiffed so bad. Thank god for Brock
> It was a different world when it came to picking quarterbacks back in 1981. In short: Nobody had any idea what the hell they were doing.
> The Packers took Campbell with the No. 6 overall pick, and the coaching staff hated him. Despite being a successful QB at Cal, it became immediately clear that Campbell didn’t have the arm strength to be an NFL quarterback and was extremely limited in the pocket.
Arron Curry should be included, he was literally named the unbustable prospect in the draft process
Lance should be higher on the list, but the “small school” comment on him is misplaced.
Carson Wentz went to the same school and was one late-season injury away from winning MVP.
Jerry Rice went to a very small school. So did Darrell Green. Brent Jones went to a school that doesn’t even have a football program anymore.
Talent is talent.
Also, how many people remember that Mandarich had a comeback of sorts and blocked for Peyton Manning in his rookie year and played really well?
Not saying I disagree. I just saw it and found it amusing
Ah yes Jamarcus Russell! Good job raiders. In that context Lance wasnt THAT bad, at least he played in the NFL
Two top ten draft busts in the same draft is a pretty shit top 10 all time list. Considering Zack Wilson went higher and never had a career either.
Steve Ehmtan , Courtney Brown, Henry Ruggs, Josh Rosen although they did him dirty, Justin Blackmon, Rueben Foster omg this dude could of been Ray Lewis , Will Levis , Johnny Manziel , I can go on and on. Y’all turn lol
Todd Marinovich
Alex Smith was almost on this list. If he never got Harbaugh he’s probably out of the league before he tears up his leg.

I know that it was a completely different era and that stats often never tell the entire story….but dang. It’s hard to see how [this](https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/rich-campbell-1.html?__cf_chl_tk=3xtb9DadUpQLiJeMieuqg3t1Tetrcr_SkWQms_Afqbk-1776464913-1.0.1.1-zGJoXK35wtq5161.qc3HufPbEuXcoJp0e4NEPOQdGFQ) is being “successful” enough to warrant the pick, even if “nobody had any idea what they were doing.”
Lance should be higher imo
A 7th round pick ended up saving Lynch’s job
Great list
Lance and Moody
