If Ruke has the potential a lot of people are saying he does, I don’t think Ian cuts behind Ulbrich and Ollie’s backs to make this deal. I’m sure it was made with a lot of input.

  2. I feel like this is the kind of pro-active stuff the last regime was lacking. This draft pick didn’t work out, let’s trade him since he’s not projecting to be resigned at this point. We used to just let dudes walk.

  3. I think its less “we need to get rid of this guy” and more “we dont need to go into the draft with glaring needs”.

  4. I think it’s a roster rebalancing. Ruke is a sub package guy. Masson gives us depth at nose tackle. I see us drafting another pass rushing defensive tackle now versus a nose.

  6. Im not willing to say if its a good or bad trade. Honestly if anything its a who cares trade.

    That being said i was pulling for ruke to make that next step but just didnt see the tape or potential, especially now that we have a few dt’s and edges getting after it that got picked behind him.

  9. Don’t know why anyone is gnashing their teeth over Ruke. Ruke was never worth a 2nd round pick and sorry ass Terry spent a 3rd **and** a 2nd on him.

    We need run stop help. Ruke just kinda all around sucks, but he for sure sucks at stopping the run. So swap him for an equivalent guy who can do that job better. Who also happens to be a year younger. Seems pretty smart.

    Ya’ll need to go look up **sunk costs** and figure out why this new FO is doing things the way they are.

  11. I think the Falcons are continuing to clean up Terry’s mess, and will prob continue to make more moves to do so. God that man was terrible.
