I’ve had 3 different people that are with teams that have all told me the post-June trade feels pretty much done

The vrabel story gonna hang around all year if we get him. I’m fine getting him for like a 3rd and boutte or something but hope we aren’t overpaying. It’s going to burn us if we are paying a first and then some
Is one of those 3 people Diana Russini?
Have to hope they aren’t giving up the 27’ 1st in that deal
Yea this is something everyone has been saying: if the Patriots trade for AJ Brown it would be after June 1st and would be for picks in the 2027 draft.
Still shouldn’t preclude the team from drafting a WR like Cooper, Boston or Conception if they fall to them.
Why draft him when we can trade
Ugh you know this is going to be for too much shit. There’s a bunch of positives for this deal but this really feels to me like buying luxury shit, when we really need to still be drafting and building the basics back in the team. Paying a 1st+ for a quality but nearing 30yrs WR who has had long term contracts nixed for degenerative knees years ago is putting the horse before the cart.
This feels too much like Vrabel putting his finger on the scales due to his persona relationship with AJ, which is nice to have but I fear we gave away to much, when PHI had limited suitors who could top us.
If it’s pretty much done I’d love to know terms because a 29 y.o signed through 32 y.o making over $30m a year is not worth a 1st. You’d be better off drafting a receiver with the 1st and he’d still be on his rookie contract when AJB retires lol
They need to finally hit on a WR in the draft, not trade a high pick for an aging, disgruntled WR who already makes a ton of money and is going to immediately want a new contract or he will pout. Maye + Gonzo are going to cost $100M/year between the two of them
Vrabel loves his former Titans (for better or worse). Titans’ fans warned us he was extremely loyal; we’ll see if it pays off in the long run. EDIT: anticipating some sort of outrage reply, it worked out for us and he won Coach of the Year last year w/an excellent season, but one of the Titans’ fans biggest gripes about Vrabel was that he was so loyal to assistant coaches and players that it cost him in the long run. I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad thing all the time, but it can def bite you in the ass from time to time.
