Giving stroud a huge contract might not be a good idea
Man he really is bitter about garrett a couple years ago, lol, why would Garrett need to say anything after a new deal?
Plus, Garrett's guaranteed amount is higher.
Garrett has no leverage. Zero. He’s under contract for 5 more years until he’s 35. There is literally nothing he can do. If he’s unhappy with his contract, he shouldn’t have signed a 5 year extension
Honor your contract and if youre worried about not being the #1 paid guy in 5 years, dont sign a 5-year contract.
Rich Eisen is just spitting gibberish at this point. Texans are NOT paying CJ Stroud before next season. Quit saying random stuff to kiss up to the players
Example: Patrick Mahomes, signed a huge contract years ago and now he is what the 10th, 12th? Highest paid QB in the league. These guys need to understand what they're doing when they sign these contracts, they are obviously resetting the market, it's about being invested in your team. Garrett I don't think will ever be, he had his chance to go elsewhere but he decided on the money to stay put. I don't want to hear anything about any of these guys bitching about not getting enough money when they have had their chance to move on and test the market. Times are changing, a price you get today will not be the same tomorrow no matter the circumstances or what you are referring to, that's just life.
The Texans have already exercised the 5th year option on Stroud, they're done negotiating for this season. And they did it on purpose before announcing this deal with Anderson. Don't assume Stroud will still be in Houston after this year…
Will Anderson salary for 2026…. $1.145 mill. Garret is getting his 40 mill. this year. If you average both out over the 5 years Myles is ahead. Don't just chase headlines, so the math.
This is just getting stupid. Players cant continue to have buyers remorse every single season. We are talking about 10s of millions ,,, hundreds of millions… prove it. The rest of us are in some questionable situations just existing currently. Its kind of insulting.
Aint no way CJ Stroud getting paid more than Will Anderson, no one is that stupid
Rich. You’re wrong. Will Anderson is 10X the player as Stroud. It shouldn’t matter the position. They should make Stroud wait another year and if he plays like last year then trade him. If he plays great then talk long term and big numbers.
No team wants a 50 mil plus AVERAGE qb.
CJ has to wait it out, and Garrett just got a huge extension last year.
I'm gonna wait to see what Florio has to say about the real numbers on these contracts.
Nick already said he’s not paying CJ this year
Rich has lost his mind
and no state tax either 🤯🤯
CJ Stroud has been mid at best the last two years with probably the worst playoff performance ever thrown in. Texans would be crazy to pay him that kinda money. Get a decent veteran for less than half that
CJ stroud wants more than Anderson he can go and see who gives him that. Good luck.
A multi billion dollar Industry of 32 teams with a questionable salary cap limit n increase each year, with players getting paid $ millions n still crying 😢n complaining not to mention the 2nd best medical support in the USA government. By the time ⌚ your 30 n lucky enough your considered getting long in the tooth n yeah definitely feel like a used peace of unwanted furniture
Why are people acting like CJ wouldn’t make 50 million a season? Lmao
Hard to compare Myles Garrett current APY to an APY for WAJ in 2028. Also 3 year deal but 5th year option a factor, under contract for 5 years in mid to low 30s
Rich: you gotta get these deals done early before other teams jack up the contract cost.
Rich (2 seconds later): the Browns need to pay Miles Garrett more money because other teams have jacked up their contracts and he’s not the highest paid anymore.
Texans could make a move on Burrow, their window is now or however long they can keep this defense intact, which is aligned with him.
How much is Patrick Mahomes make per year again?
Will Diana Russini be your next guest?
Tip my hat to the Texans front office for getting WAJ signed early
So if this extension is for the 2028 season at $50m — probably good vlaue, the others are getting 45+ this year, and if the cap just goes up it even less of a share of cap space issue too
