The Falcons are trading DT Ruke Orhorhoro to the Jaguars in exchange for DT Masson Smith.

  8. Random trade, Ruke had more opprotunity than this guy did I think, but seemed to produce more. This guy is a little bigger in weight though, guessing nosetackle.

  16. There’s your nose tackle. Maason Smith isn’t my favorite player in the world, but he does have the 1st step and overall juice that Brich needs for a penetration-style defense. The space-eating and run-stopping elements of his game are more theoretical at this point, but he is a massive human being.

  23. I think I’m a little disappointed, only because I would have liked to see a pick for Ruke. Nothing incredible, but for a starter, at least like a 5th or 6th.

  27. coming from a Jags fan, maason sucks and has huge personality problems- was a healthy scratch probably half of his career as a 2nd round pick, granted he’s only going into his 3rd year- great frame and prospect but it didn’t pan out in Jacksonville- most noticeable play from this year was he got a deflection that led to a Devin Lloyd int against SF in week 4- somebody let me know what we’re getting in Ruke, never heard of him tbh

  32. Jags fans here. Maason Smith is yet another underachieving Trent Baalke pick. He’s an okay depth piece, but absolutely nothing special as far as defensive tackles go. This move is the continuation of an effort by our GM to basically scrub the stink of Baalkes influence on the team away. Besides that, from what I understand, this move basically changes nothing for either of us lol…

  33. Ulbrich and Ollie are holdover coaches, and they gave up Ruke for literally and figuratively a JAG. Holy shit what a bad trade up. All those fans trying so hard to make Ruke a thing. 

  37. Coach Ollie had Ruke a whole year and to be honest he coached up a late rounder and a undrafted who played better. So they traded him for another underachiever who has 1st round traits and 6th round performance. If we can coach him up, he is a steal. If not, he is off the books completely.

    This year is a show me year for most of roster like 75%. If we don’t perform, we will be have basically a brand new team in ’27 since majority of our team is on 1 to 2 year deals and/or their contract is ending. Similar to what the bears did and what the eagles did a number of years ago. Fingers crossed that we are lucky and most of these guys work out. We give them market value extensions and have a bunch of money next year to get some big fish.
