If CJ didn’t blow those playoff games out his butt things would have been much different for him. It definitely uncomplicated the situation in regards to securing WAJ ASAP for Nick though.
The world got to see his postseason performance. Any time I dare to go watch highlights on the game in Foxbourough, I’m reminded that a decent, mediocre QB performance wins us that game.
Start The Neck and we are the ones losing to Seattle
Well yeah, what else is new? Everyone and their mother knows that it’s make and break for him this season.
I just hope for once Caserio doesn’t jump the gun and extend Stroud early, but it’s increasingly likely that he will.
I’ve resigned myself that he isn’t our franchise qb. He’s just the qb until it’s feasible to replace him.
If he proves me wrong, great! But the fact is he’s been bad or mediocre in more games in his career than he’s been good.
The pressure was on CJ when his OL couldn’t pass block for shit 2 seasons ago and couldn’t run block for shit last season.
Next season should be easier for him to not feel the need to play hero ball when the team theoretically will be able to run the ball in the red zone like a normal offense.
This team need to try to aim for home field advantage in the playoffs… you do that you won’t have to worry about traveling up north or Midwest for cold and snow games for playoffs…
It really comes down to NFL QBs are being drafted because of their instincts/talents and less and less focus is on the mental aspect of the game and how to game manage and read defenses.
This shows CJ that the money and commitment is there (FOR THE TAKING)from the front office. All he has to do is take it. Now, will he? We shall see
Call me crazy, but I can see a top 5 MVP season from him. Kinda chicken shit on my part because I can also see him being mid and traded after the year as well.
CJ will bounce back. It’s normal to be humbled in your early 20s. The Texans best season is upon us.
The WAJ extension changes nothing. The pressure is the same today as it was after that Patriots game. It will still be the same in September. It’s not just AFC Championship or bust, it’s if we lose the AFC Championship because of your poor play you are gone.
Man idk, i dont have a lot of expectations for the upcoming season, his head is not there under pressure
Texans Owner, GM and HC can’t think he’s their guy despite what they say. If they did, they would have signed him to an extension. Think about it. You’re confident he’s the one what better time than now to sign him for pennies on the dollar. That’s what smart business men do. Remember actions is what counts not words. No head coach, GM or owner is going to say yeah he’s not our long term future at QB. That makes no sense.
After another “CJ is our QB, he’s our guy” bit, I’d love for any Houston sports writer to simply follow up and ask them “if you think Stroud is your QB, why won’t you offer extension? What better time than now?”
We all know it, that loss in NE will sting for a long long time. All Stroud can do is perform next two seasons otherwise it’s sayonara
He’s so odd. Decided for once to be like James Harden and play hero ball vs Pats when literally the only thing he shouldn’t do would have won them the game. Never plays hero ball in fact the opposite won’t even run when there’s wide open lanes to pick up cheap yards. The one game where you basically wanted him to hand the ball off and make safe easy throws he decides nah time for me to try and over shadow our defense and be the reason why we win this game? Seriously thought did someone have something on him and was trying to throw the game it was that bad. Especially after the prior game was his all time worst you’d thought he’d not double down willingly and do it again the following game.
