Why is there always that ONE voter who wants to be different?
April 18, 2026
Voter left Wemby off 1st team All NBA completely, but also had him THIRD for MVP. Make it make sense LOL

Thought this was DPOY for a sec and got scared some daft melon ruined his youngest DPOY + only unanimous dpoy goat resume
someone put him All-NBA 2nd team lol
Just a hater. Kawhi for first team really?
Let the disrespect happen. I get the feeling that wemby takes it personally. When he gets motivated we get peak wemby. We’re gonna need him to get a title this year.
Seems like the voter chose to go by positions even though he didn’t have to, but he has Luka and Shai 1st team and they’re both point guards? He’s a dickhead lol
That person needs to be shamed and cut from future voting.
Has to be a Houston guy right?
Doesn’t even make sense. If he doesn’t think Wemby was top five MVP candidate, sure. But to place him third yet have him in the 2nd team is just ridiculous. I hope they review the voters every year and just strip the voting rights of people who lack credibility.
Take away their vote.
Kawhi had a hell of a season but 4 dudes are having historic seasons AND made the playoffs, Kawhi is not one of them.
Some reporter tied to the Clippers, and knows his connections-based job is over if Kawhi does not see one ballot with his name that high. He knows it’s a bonus that he put Kawhi’s name in the slot where Wemby’s name is supposed to be.
Haters should be banned from voting tbh. On another note, I can’t wait for the playoffs to start!

I personally really don’t give a shit about these individual awards – basketball is a team sport after all, and many awards are narrative-driven and this irks me.
However, I know the Spurs players care about it, so I will care accordingly.
But I can’t really convince myself to care about this unanimous thing. I just can’t. There are gotta be idiots and I couldn’t care less. Neither do the players as long as they get the accolade. I don’t really care for universal acceptance. Hell, I don’t really care for majority acceptance.
The Spurs have never been appreciated by the majority in the past. I really didn’t mind. Frankly, I prefer it that way.
And the beautiful thing about competition is it doesn’t care about how people see it. You win or lose and that’s it. People said we were boring back in the 2000s. So what? At the end of the day we won 3 rings, against Kobe, Shaq, and Lebron. In those years, no matter how popular they were, it didn’t matter. And it’s glorious.
cuz being different is awesome. if they’re not allowed to be different, they’d have come up with predefined bullshit like a 65-game rule or whatever.

I bet the rationale is they want to uphold the historical tradition of 2 guards, 2 forwards, 1 center on each all-nba team, and they have Jokic second on their MVP ballot. Kind of like how Jokic/Embiid would end up top 3 in MVP voting but also on 2nd team all-nba in the past.
It’s a stupid reason, but its the only way to justify that all-nba team.
Who cares, he’ll still be first team
Drop the name
Given that Wemby stays on top of stuff like this himself, it’s just going to add fuel to the fire for the playoffs and next year.
This guy apparently has Wemby on his MVP ballot, so he’s likely going by position here. It’s still a silly sticking point when Luka, JB, and Kawhi are your 2, 3, and 4. Like, sure one of them could feasibly play as a small ball 4, but I don’t really see the difference between making that exception and having a double big lineup where Wemby or Jokic slot in as the 4. It’s a non-traditional lineup regardless.
