Nabokov was easily top 3 goalies for me that guy has to be the most under appreciated goalie or underrated of all time he was amazing for the sharks and a great smaller goalie career 2.44 GAA and a .911 sv % he would be a good goalie coach or like a halak type , leafs need an overhaul from scouts to goalie coach all of it

4. Mike Gillis is great. This will be a great pickup for the leafs.

5. Bringing Mats Sundin within the Leafs organization would be good … but … how is he going to score more for the current Leafs? How is he going to goaltend better? How is he going to defend better? The Leafs are lost. If he does come, hopefully he shines a light in the right direction such that they won't be lost anymore. I have my doubts.

18. I love Sundin as a player. It is in no way his fault that he didn't win a cup. I'm not sure why they would want to bring in Mike Gillis. They need to bring in someone or people as management that have won a cup or several cups. We need people that have beenbthere and or know how to get there. That being said, with how tough the Atlantic division is and will be for the next few years I don't understand how the Leafs could be competitive in a retool without somehow getting Conor McDavid in a trade or free agency. The only way the Leafs will get to a cup is trough a complete rebuild.

22. Here's a thought – why do we need former LEAFS to come in and define the culture? Don't get me wrong – I LOVE Sundin, he was one of my favorites. But as they said, he didn't WIN. Why don't we hire players from other teams who have won before, get them to come in and teach? If Ovi retires next year, can we get him? Can we get Jonathan Quick as a goalie coach? How about a more recent guy like Tyler Johnson or Alec Martinez – neither of them were superstars, but they've got 5 cups between the 2 of them.

24. The only way to get an abundance of really good players is spend 10 plus years in the basement of the league. Want proof. Look at the teams in the playoffs or previous cup champs. Florida, 15 to 20 years in the basement. Tampa spent 10 years in the basement before becoming competitive. St Louis was a fluke. Washington before Ovi, Pittsburgh before Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Fluery. Chicago before their run, basement. Look at the teams coming up now Montreal, Buffalo, Utah, Anaheim, Ottawa. To succeed you need to struggle. You can't build the the draft picks, prospects or cap space needed to be successful without long struggle. The main thing is, which is what truly screwed the Leafs is the cap needs to grow continuously with your team or you are screwed. The Leafs got there core four or five in place and the cap froze which cause them to have to dump every young free agent and prospect because they couldn't afford to keep or resign them. Then they gave away every pick they had trying to stay competitive. Struggle and assets are the only way to build a champion.

25. Nothing will change until Ontario elects a new leader for the middle class Canadian. They need less rules, regulations, less taxes, affordable living. Other than that it will always be miserable there.

34. His resume with the Canucks is NOT good. Took a good playoff team and ran it to a non-playoff team. Sound familiar? You made compelling arguments not to sign Gillis. Stick with that. Started with the Sedins and Luongo. Never drafted well or traded well. Please NO! NO RETREADS! PLEASE!!!

I want starfield with no mans sky travel, and I need to take a dump… so far the sims is the only game that got it right… I want my day to last for hours, not minutes. theres a mod for that. I want hunger, thirst, happy/sad, hygiene, calories, pee and poop, sleep, and if I can't have all of those things, I might as well go outside.

Say what you want about Gillis and that 2011 run, by the end of 11-12, the magic was over and Gillis unfortunately resigned a lot of older guys to big contracts and that's literally where the trouble started. Benning and Rutherford to some except have continued that trend, but at least Rutherford seems aware of what's going on. If the Leafs were smart, they'd stay away from Mike Gillis. Hiring Mats in some capacity sounds like when the Canucks brought in Trevor Linden as president. As long the owner allows Mats to do what he does and judges the outcome accordingly, it should be fine. But if you have an owner like the Canucks, they'll can him if he says something the owner doesn't like, like the team needs a proper rebuild, he'll be out the door.

If they are a GM and a President of Hockey Ops, the president can't be interfering with the GM on decisions like Shanny did with Dubas and BT. Let people do the jobs they were hired to do.
