“Alternatively, the Bears could trade back and take a more patient approach, hoping to solve the defensive line problem with a midseason trade or internal development. They need a starting safety opposite Coby Bryant. They could also use a contender for CB2 to challenge Tyrique Stevenson and a center to challenge Garrett Bradbury. I could even see the Bears going for a receiver early to put pressure on Rome Odunze or an early running back to put pressure on D’Andre Swift. And how worried are they about left tackle following Ozzy Trapilo’s injury?”

“The Bears’ roster is in a larger state of transition than you’d expect for a team that just lost in the NFC divisional round. Chicago has tricky positions of need at edge rusher and defensive tackle — it has depth at those spots but no star player. The Bears would really need to swing for the fences to find an Edge1 or DT1 at No. 25, especially with this poor defensive tackle class. I love the idea of taking Caleb Banks or Peter Woods, as both come with tantalizing upside despite high risk. A healthy Banks would change the complexion of this Bears defense immediately.”

  2. I think the bears are fine on the edge. I'm guessing Booker will turn a page this year and really show up. If the Bears do trade up for someone I'd only do it for a Safety like Thienneman.

  3. If Caleb Banks is healthy he is a beast and worthy of a top 15 pick. I f you think he can be healthy Id take him at 25 without hesitation. The only hesitation is his injuries.

  4. The more I hear about this draft class, the more under impressed I tend to get. I’d almost rather trade all the picks away to get league veterans we know and know we need. #Bears

  5. There is only one player that I would be willing to make a big swing for and if we did it Bears fans would lose their minds, we would need to move up to #3 or #4 to get him unless he drops a couple spots.

  16. If you trade back once, even twice if it's like 25 for 29 and 140 it makes to much sense. I've done over 100 simulations, and you can get a lot of quality. Do not trade up, that's a failed Ryan Pace move.

  17. so let me get this straight.. you are against them "swinging for the fences on a dude is the draft who maybe elite.. But you sure as hell have no problem wasting multiple draft picks in a trade for a washed up DT or edge?? bro you are losing me at this point

  19. Seeing next year's draft is expected to be much better what about trading our 1st or a second for another 1st next year? Is the edge class next year expected to be great?

  21. At least they understand the desperate need we have at d-line and aren’t taking cornerbacks/safeties/o-line in the early rounds like your mocks do.
