  1. I respect this thought process, and I’d imagine Holloway would think this is fair as well as he’s been injury prone. Both sides seem to want to get A deal done. Will just be interesting what the terms are.

  2. I’m confused. Why does Armstrong have a say here? Isn’t Steen running the show now? Or not until October?

  3. He’s not wrong, however, this is a bit of an old school way of thinking. Holloway has enough talent to warrant a long term contract at this point because talent is very tough to come by in the league with the rising cap. You almost have to lock these guys up long term or they’ll get offer sheeted. If you don’t pay them someone else will.

  4. I figured this is what the org was thinking.  Holloway has undeniable talent but has to stay healthy.

  5. Enough with Doug. He signed Buch and Kyrou to long term deals. I don’t care what he thinks it’s Steens time. Oh and I like Holloway but can’t stand Armstrong.

  6. This makes sense. Holloway has a great season post Olympic break. Almost too good to where if we were to extend right now he’d be fair to ask for a bit more money. I have a feeling we end up signing a similar deal to Brobergs but we need to see 82 games worth out of Dylan not ~25 to properly value.

  7. I kinda could see this making sense for both camps, although personally I’d rather not mess around and just get him locked up with at least some solid term

  8. I like the bridge contract if Holloway is open to it. He’s unbelievably talented but prone to injury. Everyone complains about the long-term no trade contracts that have been cursing the Blues for the last few years. Add that to an injury-prone player and you may be sorry. Somehow, someway, I hope he’s a long term Blue that deserves the salary.
