just a random thought that came across my mind, but this guy has been so good pretty much since the detroit game in 2024. only 2 tds away from being tied for 3rd for the most tds by a tight end in franchise history, and he’s still only going into year three. He might even top the charts before he even gets an extension. i’m excited to see him be utilized more with fleury coming in.

oh and also that boy got the most swag itl

  1. I wonder where our TEs rank historically amongst NFL franchises. It has to be one of the weakest TE groups of all 32 franchises.

  2. didn’t even mention how good of a blocker he is in addition to all the pass catching

  3. As Long as Jimmy Graham doesn’t need to be at the top of the list ill be happy(i hate the trade and not him him in general)

AJ was such a steal huge props to our scouting department for consistently finding gems in drafts

  4. Its a shame Will Dissly kept suffering through serious injuries. He truly looked special early in his career. And he and Russ had an amazing connection from early on too. I know he was still a decent blocker and has bounced around the league in that role, but he could’ve been so much more had his knees just not given out on him over and over.

  5. After complete misses with olsen, graham (that max unger trade still pisses me off), dickson; followed by bad luck with dissly, we’ve finally found our man.

  6. One tight end who doesn’t get enough love in team history is Mike Tice. Ten years with the team, but came from an era where tight ends were still predominantly blockers. But to OP’s point, Barner isn’t too far from being the best in team history. Realistically it’d only take maybe two more years at his current production rate to claim that mantle.

  7. Won’t be hard for him as long as he stays healthy and Fleury actually uses him like Klint did. Jimmy Graham was talented and should have been far and away at the top of that list but they never used him effectively. In fact until Klint came along I can’t remember the Seahawks ever using any TE effectively.

  8. Looking forward to the competition with arroyo, for sure, but aj has a big head start

  9. a lot more hesitant to do stat extrapolation in football vs basketball or baseball.

  10. Jimmy Graham being the best TE we’ve had statistically is ironic given how his time here is viewed lol

  11. Too bad Jimmy got the injury bug. On a per-game basis his production was phenomenal.

  12. Crazy he was only 23 last season, I feel TEs don’t take off till their late 20s as well, I kinda have a feeling he’s gonna become truly elite in the coming seasons

  13. This is seriously our Tight End TD leaders? I know we don’t have a good history with TEs but I didn’t know it was like this.

  14. We historically suck at covering TE and using them lol. Even in LOB era TEs would have good games against us.

  15. I can’t wait to see what Brian Fleury does with AJ and our TEs this year. I think AJ is going to ball out as Darnold’s #2 target after JSN.
