45. PSA: the Hawks traded Luke for Gabe to generate a $11 million Trade Exception (TPE).

    Because the Hawks took on Gabe salary using a pre-existing trade exception, Kennard’s entire outgoing salary was used to “spawn” a brand-new exception. Which expires February 2027.

    Hawk did not trade Luke for Gabe or a 2nd round pick lol. They wanted the TPE.
