I remember him talking about how he constantly waited for them to make a move that showed they wanted to win. He said he thought for sure Burrow would be the one to make them do it; and now he has. Love to see it.

I once waited next to him for the bathroom at Jeff Ruby’s. It was like standing next to a door with a head on top of it. The most preposterously enormous human being I’ve ever been near.

Six to midnight for the rest of this off season. This is the first time i have genuinely been happy in an offseason since 2022. They fucking did it, Duke and Katie and that decrepit Mike actually did it.

I know people are excited to get a shiny new toy. Dexter Lawrence is an awesome player. But he left New York because he wants a new contract. A new, expensive contract. The bengals already had an all pro player who they let walk because he wanted an expensive contract. The difference is that DL will cost an expensive contract AND the #10 pick in the draft (which would be on a rookie contract).
I don’t want to sound like I think it’s a bad move. DL is a fantastic player and the Bengals need serious help up front. I can see DL changing the mindset of that entire defense and being an elite run stuffer which was desperately needed to help the secondary have more freedom to pass protect. But I also can’t help but question why they didn’t just give Hendrickson the contract he more than earned and use their draft pick to get a good player for cheap.
(Apparently I’m not the only one who has this question. I think it came down to how TH and his agent were approaching the new contract and the Brown family historically doesn’t deal with that approach.)

I know I’m in the minority, but I don’t want any ex-player to say “We” if they didn’t finish their career with the Bengals, especially when they bad-mouthed the organization after they left and helped beat the Bengals in a Super Bowl. I love Whit and appreciate everything he did in Cincinnati, but dude left for a ring, you can’t now just pretend like it didn’t happen.

On his podcast with fitz, he is generally positive but critical and definitely still identifies as a bengal.

Mike Brown’s daughter and her husband suck at negotiation. They’re only in their positions because of nepotism, and we all fucking know it. They fuck up with genuinely good players who would have loved to stay in stripes, but it always bites them in the ass that they say, “We can do better.”
Must be nice to be daddy’s little girl who sucks ass at her position, but I digress.
Sure, Whitworth staying a Bengal would have altered history (no doubt), but he wanted to be a Bengal. When you got stars on the roster, you fucking do whatever it takes to keep them happy.
