49ers ALARM UPDATE: New talent on the horizon
The ONLY 49ers Mock Draft You Need for 2026!
In this special edition, I’m joined by Mike to dive into a realistic 7-round mock draft for the San Francisco 49ers. This isn’t just about picking names – it’s about breaking down the “why” behind every move.
We look at historical trends under Lynch and Shanahan, key roster needs, and how potential defensive changes could reshape the team’s draft strategy.
Inside this Mock Draft:
First Round Dilemma: Edge rusher or wide receiver? We break down why history points strongly toward one of these positions as the most likely direction.
The “Plug-and-Play” Plan: Can the 49ers land an immediate starter the interior offensive line? We explore what that profile looks like.
Defensive Shift: How schematic changes toward heavier fronts could impact the type of defensive linemen being targeted.
Future-Proofing the WR Room: With major contract decisions looming, we look at late-round upside options who could develop into key contributors.
Live Simulation: Watch a full mock draft play out in real time, including trade scenarios and how the board falling impacts decisions.
Will the 49ers prioritize immediate impact or long-term upside? We break down every angle to get you ready for draft weekend.

Look. Great producer, I’m sure. But Mike needs to be sure he’s not talking about red zone “Woos” and calling Purdy “tedious”.
I give you a F on your draft
First pick and you draft a guy that is ranked 57 You two are jokes
Nice to meet ya, Mike! I've heard so much about cha, buddy! #LFG9ERS
What is Cassius Howell still on the clock at 27? Its gotta be him
Eli Heidenreich is the pick in the middle rounds.
A receiver with drop issues is a big no even in middle of the draft. That’s not a good flaw. I would rather take a receiver with other flaws like lack of speed, size, experience, etc but not drops.
O-line,,,,PLEASE
but once again u forgot to address center
No Dline speed? So now you guys are saying old man Bosa is slow?
You are correct, Bosa is slooooooow.
Nice to connect the face to the voice. Nice to see you, Mike. Keep up the good job.
Thumbs up to David and Mike – good video.
To get a O lineman with 27 there has to be someone without a doubt that has potential to be an anchor on the line, (needs to be someone who can play any position on the line) for the next 6 years at least, otherwise d line. No receiver, it takes to long to bring a receiver up to speed even Jerry Rice took a couple of years to get going
mike has a great amiable personality.
What if Kenyon Sadiq falls to 27? Do you think they pull the trigger on that? The guys is a match-up NIGHTMARE. and would really give Kyle something very unique to game plan with.
I get best talent but I'm so tired of dl picks niners have missed more than hit at this position imo, I just want a solid line so purdy isn't always running for his life…
No way they are drafting an Oline in round 1 or 2. I say round 1 and round 2 EDGE. We are really thin there
Bring the Power! Student Body Right
So once again, we go a 1-down LER (300+ snaps) to pair with last year's 2-down LDE 1st round pick (MW) vs. the top 1 or 2 G/C who'll give you 1K snaps out of the gate protecting your FQB and run blocking for CMC. Yup, makes perfect 49ers-sense.
Maybe it's just me, and I know it's not, but I feel like since 2020 we've drafted more than half a dozen WRs, and besides slick Rick, I've seen nothing out of most of them, very little out of a couple of them.
Most especially out of these so-called speedy deep threat potentials.
And I'm reasonably certain most of them aren't even on the team anymore.
I'm also aware that not every draft pick can transition to the NFL game.
But seriously there should be a few more What's the deal?
Mike exposed, breaking news… sporting a healthy moustache. 27th pick has to be the best OT/OG left side otherwise Purdy is n jeopardy of being pressured at a rate that would be a disaster to start off the season.
Then again edge or WR… we shall see…
We have said take the best available at 27…we have no idea who will be there. Get your popcorn ready…
We have MANY needs….too many to fill through the draft
Edge, OT, interior OL, Safety. Get the best player among those who fits
Don't put it past shanahan to reverse last year and go exclusively offense day 1.
Hard to complete passes getting pressured the whole game
I would be pretty bummed if that ended up being our draft. Not a fan
Yes, the 49ers do have a very high threshold for physical characteristics at the tackle position. And players that have those elite, athletic traits are usually only available in the top 10.
But that means the 49ers really don't have much choice but to bring in a 'project'. With a 38 year old LT, you can't kick the can down the road any more. Hoping (?!) you have a top 10 pick in the next couple of seasons AND that there are multiple, elite OTs in the draft after you happened to have a terrible season is INSANE.
The 49ers MUST have a *plan*, and it would likely include at least one red shirt year anyway. If you get lucky and the guy can play right away at LG, that's gravy.
Where is Our defensive coordinator? I have not heard him say one word since he has been hired….no idea what he is going to do
always funny how people get so hyped up about fake drafts
No to Concepcion, Brazzell or Boston in the 1st
I’d rather do something different than the same ol draft strategy
Even with a healthy Bosa and Osa, the Niners are still in danger of finishing low in the league in sacks and pressures.
This is why #27 must be an Edge rusher. If they go WR, then lil Upton Stout is the 3rd best pass rusher on the 52.
If the Niners are fortunate enough to get Dunker in the 2nd, Mike should celebrate by growing out a mullet to complement his Magnum PI mustache.
Mike should come on more often!
Probably worth noting that this mock is over a week old.
UDFA Jayden Ott. For a back.
That draft sucked.
