Josh Anderson charging penalty

  1. And then they miss Hagel holding Hudsons stick as he was checked. Refs need to actually call the things that are happening not these nothing plays.

  2. If you’re still wondering if the NHL has any interest in having the Cups won in Florida, watch this game. Guhle’s 4 min minor, Anderson’s “penalty” on Gourden, now this.

  3. I may be biased as a panthers fan but i dont see anything wrong there. Unfortunately timed but still looked clean

  4. I mean thats a charge… Doesn’t matter if the hit itself is clean or not

  5. I’ve been saying for a while now, Canadian teams don’t need to win the cup to be profitable for the NHL but a lot of American teams do or at least have deep runs.

  6. This is a charge by definition of the rule. Distance traveled violent check. Both criteria met here.

  7. There genuinely needs to be an investigation into the reffing this year. There has not been a season I can remember in the last 25 years of watching hockey that officiating has been this bad.

  8. Objectively its a charge, those crossovers counts as strides, however for a playoff game its soft. What he should have done for this to be a clean hit is glide from the faceoff circle more or less. He takes 1 or 2 strides too many.

  9. This thread is wild. I don’t care about either of these teams whatsoever, but if this isn’t charging than what is? He started building speed at the blue line and didn’t stop until he hit the goal line.

The “gliding” comments below are nonsensical, he stopped skating 1-1.5 seconds before he attempted to obliterate this guy, his speed was unchanged, and “gliding” has nothing to do with the rule.

Jumping also isn’t required to call a charge.

  10. Right call, but the one he laid right after getting out of the box was an even bigger charge and should have been called too.

    Brutal night for the stripes.
