Tampa Bay gets an interference penalty, then gets a powerplay

Refs aren’t paid that much, it makes sense they would do this to get paid more, I totally understand XD, do your hustle!!

After getting free PP from these refs, they sure needed one more.
Not to mention not getting a penalty for breaking a stick cross checking.
Tampa choking so refs need to control the game

That was just such an obviously terrible call though that’s the issue.
Edit: 30 seconds into the period they fixed it with another pretty bad call… Jon cooper on the bench didn’t even react he knew it was coming fix a mistake with another mistake.

Unfortunate sequence but I can see why 2 penalties were given. Why are people upset ? /Caps fan and will cheer for my countryman Kuch.

Unpopular opinion here but you’re still responsible for your stick after the whistle. This is the right call.
Haha This is insane… grab the other teams stick and smash your buddy in the face. You get 2 for holding but they get 4 for High Sticking. This was dumb as fuck. If he didn’t interfere there would be no high stick…
Jesus Habs fans are worse than Tampa fans for complaining about officiating. Who knew?
Are we watching the same game??? I saw it completely opposite. His stick was already face level before contact. YOU Are responsible for your stick regardless of the situation. The only exceptions for that is if it is a follow-through or a stick-lift by the defender. This was neither. 4-minute high stick was the right call no question. The interference cannot be blamed by the rules of the game.
Leafs dealt with this for 9 years.
There’s a bit less of a black and white in high-sticking than say “delay of game” due to lifting out of your d-zone into the crowd. High-sticking is not called if it was due to a stick-lift or a follow-through. This was very clearly a 4 minute high-sticking penalty. Sorry Habs fans. Enjoy how awesome your team is after years of mediocrity instead of whining about officiating. I picked the Habs to go at least as far as the conference finals so keep your knickers untwisted and enjoy the game.

I live in Tampa and can’t stand the lightning for this reason. I’m not joking when I say it seems that every single games the refs do some fuckery to keep giving Tampa powerplay s until they can tie the game

Guhle’s stick wouldn’t have come close to high sticking anyone if Hagel hadn’t set up the pick and made contact. Couldn’t discretion have been used here?
