  1. One of my friends. I forgot what they call the position, is the person who is in charge of the visiting team’s locker room for White Sox park. Would always say how great and well respected, as well as classy Miggy was. That made him one of his favorites.

  2. As a Royals fan, I absolutely hate the Tigers, but I have always loved and respected Miggy. He was such a professional and was always respectful. He was well liked by most fan bases. So much so that there was a healthy crowd at the last game of his 2012 triple crown year in Kansas City to show respect for him making history. My dad and I bought tickets just to watch it.

  3. Watched a Tigers-Mets game at Citi Field a while back. Took my lifelong Mets fan uncle and aunt. Legit fan since the Mets came in to existence. I’m a Phillies fan but like seeing new parks. We sat in the left field home run territory, lower level. Miggy looked physically huge even from that distance. Watched him hit a home run that went over our heads into the second deck, seemingly a line drive. Never seen, nor heard a ball hit that hard in my life. Dude was impressive as anyone I’ve ever seen.

  4. One of the greatest hitters of our time, definitely.

    Happy birthday, Miggy!

  5. 16 y/o old tigers fan here. I wish so much that I was conscious enough to understand the truly incredible seasons he had in 2012 and 13. Easily my favorite person to watch ever.

  6. Tribe/Guards fan here. This dude is a menace. Do I like the Tigers? Fuck No. Do I like Miggy? Fuck Yes ⚾️

  7. Him squaring up on Jose Ramirez when he was getting his retirement gift from Cleveland will always be hilarious.

  8. Saw him play in the minors when he was 16. Was a monster then too – just much smaller when he was a SS.

  9. In my opinion the best all around hitter in baseball when he played and one of the best all time. He doesnt get enough credit.
