Whatever shit you want to talk about the Sens, Linus has been the best part about that team this series and it isn’t close.
Ullmark being hung out to dry.
I would be curious what this looks like for Ottenger game 2 and 3 only…that game 1 will haunt him for the rest of the play offs, from a statistical standpoint.
Poor Ullmark. Guy is the only Senator showing up
If Edmonton had a goalie of Wedgewood caliber past 5 years they would’ve had at least 3 cups.
Just boggles my mind that as a team they just can’t fix this glaring hole.
I am still besides myself that Edmonton didn’t trade a boat for Ullmark when we had him on the block.
Colorado having such good goaltending on top of everything else really feels unfair.
Please stop it
Wow. Honestly skinners been playing so well, esp on the constant odd man rushes and breakaways the pens keep giving up.
I love that we signed Vladar as a stopgap goalie while our prospects developed just for him to turn into a genuinely good goalie that may need an extension
“If Ullmark shows up, the Sens run away with it easy” mfs in shambles (it’s me, I’m in shambles)
Sens fans spent all year talking about how they would be one of the top teams in the league if they got average goal tending. Now they’re getting amazing goaltending and they’re playing like ass.
Man Ottawa has it rough, Ullmark returns to elite Vezina level and they cant do anything to save themselves. Im not saying they’re eliminated but the 0-3 wild card team isnt great chances.
Aight, I’ve been a long time hockey fan, but have only recently started to go deeper in my understanding of analytics like this.
Using Ullmark as an example, the stats seem to show he’s playing out of his mind. But could the stats also show the Hurricanes are struggling to finish opportunities? Our top line has been very quiet offensively with almost all of our goals coming from the second line. The second line is playing incredible, but there goals have mostly been good system goals more so than individual efforts in finishing.
I don’t have a full enough grasp of how these stats are meassured to fully read into them. Could this show that while Ullmark has definitely played well, it may actually have more to do with the Hurricanes struggling to finish high danger chances?
Kind of weird seeing 2 in the top 5 (especially Ullmark) that are 0-3 with these stats honestly
Small sample size (technically only played 1 and 1/3rd game), but keep starting Lyon. It’s his net to lose.
Why is Wedgewood above Vladar? I’m just a simple caveman who’s afraid of your advanced stats.
Canes/sens and avs/kings have just been tendyfests
2 of top 5 will be gone after round 1
Nuts to see the first five goalies are in series that are 3-0, on one side or the other.
Ullmark should start a podcast with his family members and take shots at his captain who cant do shit.
Ullmark about to drop the gloves with his own team.
Oettinger 👀
Skinners numbers aren’t it. He has kept the games close. Not his fault he has faced multiple 2-0 3-1 shots etc.
There’s been some great goaltending to watch so far thee playoffs. Kind wish Ullmark was on another team going deeper, he’s been fun to watch.
Lyon only played 1 game so far. Bad information
Skinner let up definitely 1 easy one, debatably a 2nd. But he’s actually been pretty good tbh. One of the few things. I’m not a computer running analytics, but just from the eye test, I don’t get this stat.
The Otter v Wallstedt placement makes the last 2 games even more pathetic for MN.
fucking anemic-ass powerplay.
I like Skinner but I think the problem with the penguins isn’t necessarily his fault but how the lines are rn
I’d rather see GA divided by GAAE and an expected save percentage to show how good Freddie is
FER FAWK SAAKESS
I like wood
Ima be honest I had Andersen counted out but he’s been really good the last while. Also, poor ullmark
All the attention had been on Ullmark but Freddie has had a great series
McDavid took the biggest hometown discount in NHL history and the front office looked at the goalie market and said “yeah, Tristan Jarry.” meanwhile the Avs casually picked up two legit goalies in two weeks after dumping Georgiev. Edmonton’s goalie acquisition strategy is just refreshing the free agent page and sorting by “recently waived.”
Freddy is looking like the frontrunner for Conn Smythe so far.

Sorry, typo: Goals *saved above expected
