  1. Remember the dude in here yesterday who said his oblique injury must have been fake because he ended up getting two hits lol.

  2. maybe this will give him time to mentally reset and get out of this horrific slump could potentially be a blessing in disguise

  3. Needed to happen but still a big blow to the team, even if he wasn’t hitting. It’s almost like trying to play through a core injury might affect someone’s ability to hit

  4. It’s almost like his record slump was a result of an injury… hope he’s able to get back to his normal big dumper self.

  5. That’s rough but I can’t say I’m surprised. He just hasn’t looked like himself at the plate. Hopefully it’s a fairly quick one and he comes back soon, fully healed

  6. explains why he hasn’t been playing well at all. This is not like him

  7. No surprise. Even if it’s something he could physically play through, which is what they determined when he first got benched last week, it’s clear he needs a mental break on top of the physical one.

  8. Was obvious he was playing through injury. Should have shut him down weeks ago

  9. About time. Hope he recovers quickly, I’d like to see more dumps.

  10. Fucking finally. I don’t know how a professional organization let’s one of their star players play through an obvious injury.  I know Cal’s the type of person to think he can play through an injury, and he’s actually been able to help the team when he’s done it before, but when you’re doing nothing but hurting the team with your presence, you have to be able to be honest with yourself and take a step back. Just a disappointing lack of leadership and accountability from both Cal and the organization.

  11. I respect Cal for playing through this for two weeks, but this IL stint should’ve been happened.

  12. Ive played baseball most of my life and until last week had never actually injured my oblique, only heard of others. I now get why its basically impossible to hit with an oblique injury
