  1. Imai still seems to be struggling to adjust to the slicker MLB ball.
Heโ€™s nowhere near his form in Japan.
We probably wonโ€™t see him fully shine until next year.

  2. If facts he pitched much better in last start angist Twins. He's lack of making whiff today, but fourtunely got a good result.Hope he'll get better and better then.

  4. Iโ€™m Japanese so not biased hereโ€ฆImai is far from being out of the woods. He is still not consistent nor has the command in his pitches. Astros D helped him in this game. Not only that but his character is considered questionable in Japan and his lack of mental strength was in display earlier when things donโ€™t go his way. I think he should spend the season in the minors to work on his mental side and his command, including acclimating the life in the USA.

  9. He was just as successful in Japan as Yoshinobu Yamamoto, so heโ€™s definitely capable of much more than this. Since he skipped the WBC to focus on his preparation, I have high hopes for him.
