Mike Greenberg on SGA style of play: “Watching him play is agonizing. It is not fun…. You have to understand that for the rest of us, watching this style of play is not like watching Steph, it’s not like watching Michael Jordan. It’s just not.”

  1. I’d love to hear what Mike Greenberg thinks about listening to these sports media shows.

  2. Me on watching ESPN’s Get Up in the year of our lord 2026: “It’s agonizing, it’s not fun”

  3. People are really reaching mentally ill levels when it comes to hating the thunder lol, shitting on their fans cheering and trolling like they were committing a sin, I mean, I don’t like them either, but y’all gotta cool it

  4. There is no way these people watch the games. This Spurs OKC series is probably the most fun I’ve had watching as a neutral since 2016. Sure the flopping is annoying but unless you spend all your time looking at social media it doesn’t impede the enjoyment of watching the game at all.

  5. I LIKE watching my players flop.
I LIKE watching ball go in hoop from free throw.
I LIKE seeing refs call for one team.
I LIKE SGA fall to the ground anytime he can.
I LIKE the game being interrupted and not having a flow.

    6-7!!!

  6. The NBA is truly at a crossroads right now. This is a period of great transition.

  7. My problem is Shai is actually a bucket but resorts to shit this by default because he knows he can. MVP Harden did this shit, pre rake rule KD, etc they do it til you force them not to.

  8. Remember the nickname D – Whistle because he averaged 16 FTs in the finals ?

  9. lol without hyper fixating on one single player I do still enjoy watching the game of basketball, SGA, Luka, Giannis, Wemby, Steph, still give us so much entertainment. SGA is unbearable if you’re just sitting on the edge of your seat the entire time looking to see when there’s a whistle and calling out how it’s wrong.

  10. Shai deadass has a beautiful offensive game outside of the like 5-6 flops/flails a game.

Absurd mid range, handles, driving game. Good decision maker and 3 point shooter. Also a defensive disruptor.

It’s insane that this kind of player is the one the nba community has decided to collectively hate

  11. Omg the discourse around this is just not fun. The playstyle can be annoying but it’s not worth acting like it’s the end of civilized basketball. They aren’t even discussing the actual games anymore it’s just hopping on the foul baiting train.

Reason# 1,457,467 why NBA media and discourse is the worst out of the 4 major sports.

  12. The Knicks bias is absolutely not playing a role in this tirade. Greeney already placating himself for the impending finals loss.

  13. Jordan averaged 10FTA per playoff game over his career, in an era where that represented an even larger % of his team’s total scoring.

SGA is averaging 10 this year’s playoffs and shot 9 per game last season.

  14. Sports media is full of braindead retrds ngl.

Half these dudes clearly do not watch games consistently and just recycle whatever narrative they think will get the most clicks that week.

And this is coming from a Lakers fan. I have zero reason to defend SGA, but pretending he’s only a foul baiter is just dishonest basketball analysis.

Yes, he foul baits and flails at times. So do a lot of stars. That still does not erase the ridiculous shot making he has.

He’s not having an good run by his standards and the discourse is still somehow more dramatic than the actual basketball.

  15. Shocking the Jets were somehow brought up in a discussion about the nba finals

  16. I very much agree here. I’m not a fan of OKC nor am I against them. I don’t care who wins at this point. I just want to see grown men who are supposed to be to notch athletes not fall over when they are barely touched. I miss seeing the battle for position, and the grind players had to endure to score.

  17. Ironically, Steph would’ve benefitted more from following over the course of his career because he probably has the second worst superstar whistle behind LeBron.

  18. People can certainly hate those warriors team cause they were good and had heals like Draymond, but you can’t say it wasn’t beautiful basketball to watch.

  19. If I were Shai I’d be worried this taints his legacy despite his actual skill. He’ll never be considered one of the greats because of the flopping.

  20. You don’t have to enjoy it but you do have to take it in the ass every year until we done with you nba fans

  21. SGA has his moments where he’s incredible and entertaining. As I’ve always said, I blame the refs for rewarding the unnatural shooting motions (including diving into defenders and falling down).

NBA players will adjust if you stop calling it. Stop calling it.

  22. I haven’t watched a single minute since Lebron is out and my hawks lost. NBA does kind of suck to watch.
