  1. Other moves:

INF Pete Alonso has been placed on the 10-Day IL, retroactive to June 8, with left wrist bone bruise and sprain.

INF Luis Guillorme has been recalled from Triple-A.

LHP Zach Muckenhirn has been recalled from Triple-A.

RHP Stephen Nogosek has been designated for assignment.

Catcher Tomás Nido has been outrighted to Triple-A.

  2. Sucks but also isn’t the worst possible outcome. Hopefully this team can play decent ball without him so he comes back to a team that still has a fucking shot

  3. I don’t advocate for this, because of the risk of needless injury, but I feel like these two teams are gonna brawl the next time they face one another. We lose Pete for a month and need to blow off some steam.

  4. The core of the team (besides deGrom) had remarkable health last year. That was never going to repeat.

  5. Why do they dfa nogosek? How is drew smith on roster still? Kid tosses a meatball homer every game on cue.

This season is over, cohen funded an embarrassment at the hands of eppler

  6. This just means our large adult son Francisco Alvarez will have to hit even more homers. Do it for Pete, El Troll!

  7. There goes 60 homeruns. Silver lining, we’ll see what Vientos has now and if he should be part of the future.

  8. At this rate, the trade deadline should be intriguing. They’ll have a lot of options.

  9. Every season it’s fucking something, I have had to see the Yankees, Braves, Marlins, Nationals and fucking Phillies win win and fucking win. I’m just tired, of nothing ever going our way

  10. Time for the 341 million dollar short stop to step up and lead this team.

  11. The season is over anyway. Might as well rest him for the remainder. We can finish in 4th place without him just as easily with him. Gonna be hard to replace that .220 avg and his leadership that led us to three games under .500.

  12. This totally stinks but it’s not going to make or break us.

Our older vets aging (which was always a risk)? The pen continuing to suck? Jeff McNeil having 2021 vibes? Those are the pressing issues right now.

  13. Man the comments on Instagram under that post are awful.
I hope half that team suddenly gets the wicked yips.

  14. Wishing Pete a fast recovery. And to the rest of the team: pick your fucking shit up and carry Pete rather than Pete carrying the rest of y’all

  15. A hockey player would barely miss a shift for a non-injury like this. 🤣🤣🤣
