[Murray] Free-agent pitcher Martin Pérez and the Chicago White Sox are in agreement on a contract, pending physical, according to sources familiar with the deal.

   Made 26 starts last year – going 5-6 with a 4.53 ERA and 0.9 WAR.

   I just hope we’re not spending too much time prioritizing guys like Martin Perez over younger pitchers if they are ready. 

   Otherwise for competition, veteran presence or whatever, fine.

   My take: somebody has to log innings and the guys on the farm aren’t quite there yet.

   Also kind weird that this is the second signing I’ve seen where the guy has very bad extension according to Savant. Maybe Katz sees something we don’t that he thinks can be fixed? IDK.
